minecraft may be poorly optimized but it is in no way hard to run.
the only thing that minecraft really needs is:
a decent processor
if you have a core 2 duo or better then congrats you can play it.
ram
4gb should be good but any decent gaming computer should have at least 6gb.
a not terrible gpu
Intel HD 4000 or better is generally enough. |

minecraft is poorly optimized not because of java solely but because how Notch coded it.
remember that Minecraft started off as a small project of his that he wasn't really planning to go big with. thus, he coded for simplicity and not for great performance.
mojang could rewrite the whole game logic in java and have it be much faster, but it doesn't really make sense. only a small amount of people teeter on the balance of not being able to run it and being able to, and the small code reworks they do every once in a while generally suffices. |

the amd E3 series is an old netbook processor. some phone processors are faster than it. |
