the hybrid server should be paired with a "sync" or composite server that splits the server into fractions equal to the players (2 players=one half per computer) but because of this you need a 30 second log out time so data can be downloaded out of yours and divided onto other computers. this way, the more people on the server, the less they must compute, and the faster they go, so it just explodes speed with your hybrid server :D

Horable Idea, you'd have to download something before you went into any game.

Sean, that would make ROBLOX so much better.

Firewalls would block it, and it would take a very large amount of RAM deleting and creating the files. You would only be able to play in about five places before you have to shut down and turn your computer on again. It would be equivalent to installing five games, uninstalling them, then trying to play a game like Bioshock or Crysis.

Avus, have you also taken into account that they would add more core files that would make compiling go faster? Like the things that load, like brick size, color, material, and all other properties already on your computer so when you load, it doesn't re-create, just take things from those files, and put the place together?

Nice Idea, just has some faults, ANYTHING could have been put into that map when it has been downloaded, all it takes is some XML/C++/C/ANY OTHER LANGUAGE magic on the models, and bang, you've been hacked.

@ curt:Wrong curt, the ROBLOX compiler cannot use those scripts for anything. ROBLOX only allows LUA to be compiled, anything else is just rubbish. |@Other people: 1. A firewall can be easily handled by simply allowing the program to do what it does, with the little 'Allow' button. 2. I think you might have mis-understood what I meant. It would have the bricks all reasy to be compiled. But these bricks would not be what you use to build. Let me explain. ROBLOX will make a file for each brick size, and make the variable files for the colors and such. In ROBLOX studios you would still do everything normally, it's just when loading the game, instead downloading all the different brick sizes/colors/materials, it would just skim through and pick and choose the files needed for loading. The same would go for the configurations part of the online server log, that would also be loaded much faster, because of the files already being in the ROBLOX file.
