Just like your messages and friends list, you get a notification indicating the amount of messages/friends that have been unread/unseen. since the forums also has "Unread" posts, why not give those a notification system as well? So for every recent posts you've replied to i would receive a notification, that way i know for sure that somebody has replied or answered one of my posts so i don't need to go to "Forum" to "MyForums", scroll, and check if the paper icon is highlighted green just to realize that one of your posts or a post you have taken part in has received a new post.
If you disagree with something that doesn't really have a good reason to be unsupported, then please state your reasoning.
