{[TEAMS AND ROSTERS]}
- If teams have 5 or more, 5v5 must be played.
- Signings only occurs when both team owner and player agree to terms, trades only occur when all team owners in the trade agree to terms and releasing occurs when the team owner states who he releases.
- Draft picks can be traded.
- If a player is not in the SFL, then you can not draft or sign him/her.
- A player can leave his/her team before week 7 and during the offseason.
- A team may not have more than 15 players, the assistant coach and head coach do not count towards the 15.
{[THE GAME]}
- 2 halves, 8 minutes
- 4 downs. First down is 10 yards
- Each team has 3 time outs per half.
Clock is stopped after: Kick offs, turn over on downs, play goes out of bounds, ball is spiked, incomplete passes, and timeouts.
{[OFFENSE]}
- When the QB says HIKE the play starts.
- Once you have one forward pass you cannot pass forward again.
- QB may run with the ball after 5 seconds. If he runs before it will result in a 5 yard penalty.
- A WR cannot receive the ball if they voluntarily run out of bounds and comeback in. If they are pushed out of bounds by a defender then they can still receive a pass once back on the playing field.
- A WR must touch the ground for it to be ruled complete, if a WR catches it in air and lands out of bounds it is incomplete.
Lateral passes ARE allowed.
- You MUST pass at LEAST every other play.
{[SPECIAL TEAMS]}
- Kick offs are done at the 35, receiving team cannot go past their 45, prior to a kick.
- Away team chooses heads or tails before regulation or OT. Home team chooses what side they defend and it switches at half time.
- 2 onsides are given per team for the WHOLE game.
- Onsides must be kicked past the 50.
- Field goals must be snapped to a kicker and the kicker may not line up more then 15 yards away from the line of scrimmage.
- Line of scrimmage on PATs/2pt is at the 10 yard line, PAT kicker cannot be past the 20 yard line.
- You may only kick a field goal if you are past the opponents 40 yard line.
{[OVERTIME]}
- You may not onside kick in overtime.
- There will be one overtime period(5 minutes) with the following rules:
- Lets say team A receives the kick.
- If team A scores a touchdown the game immediately ends and team B loses.
- If team A scores a field goal, team B has one possession to kick a field goal and if they score a touchdown they win, if they kick a field goal the next team to score wins.
- If team A lets up a safety, the game is over and team B wins.
- If team A turns the ball over and team B kicks a field goal or gets a touchdown, team B wins.
- If it is in regular season and overtime ends still tied, it will go into the standings as a tie.
- If it is a playoff game and overtime ends still tied, overtimes will continue to be added until the game is decided.
{[PENALTIES]}
Passing Interference [10 Yards]: Passing Interference can only be called on the offense. If the ball is passed to a person other than the player the penalty was on then there was no penalty. Passing Interference is when the WR pushes off of his CB to his advantage. The defenders may push the WRs all they want.
Diving/Jumping behind the line of scrimmage [10 yards]: NO PLAYER (After the ball is hiked) may jump or dive behind the line of scrimmage after the ball is hiked. You may jump or dive behind the line of scrimmage after the ball is caught, handed off, or the player with the ball passes the line of scrimmage. If this rule is broken it will result in a loss in 10 yards.
Intentional Grounding [Yards vary]: If the quarterback is throwing the ball to where nobody is, then intentional grounding will be called. The ball is placed down at where the quarterback threw the ball as if he was tackled there. If intentional grounding was called when they QB was throwing in the endzone, then the play will result in a safety and the team that was on defense will get the ball. Intentional grounding only counts when the QB is in the middle lines of the field.
Offsides [5yards]: If a player is caught on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage when the ball is hiked. If a player is offside it will result in a 5 yard penalty.
Other penalties:
- Touchback = LOS at receiving teams 20
- Delay of Game = 5 Yard Penalty & Loss of Down [Dead PlaY]
- False Start [Steps across the LoS before hike] = 5 Yard Penalty
- Out of Bounds Kick = LoS at 40 Yard Line
- Insulting, harassing the Referee = 5 Yard Penalty [Repeated Offenses = Ejection]
- Too Many Players on the Field = 5 Yard Penalty & Loss of Down
- Ball snapped outside of the hashes = 5 Yard Penalty [Dead Play]
- Illegal snap forward or behind endzone = Loss of Down [Dead Play]
- Fake ball thrown by sideline player = 5 Yard Penalty |
