Okay, as a heads up in my county we just installed a new grading system called ISIS (Yes, it's what it is actually called, don't bother with it). Anyways, it's so that grading is not out of total points, but out of percentages for different sections of the curriculum.
The percentages are typically
Tests/Quizzes: 40%
Projects:30%
Homework: 20%
Classwork, etc: 10%
That being said I am a great test taker, I rarely score below a B. My projects are all over the place ranging from D's-A's. Classwork is an easy A, but HOMEWORK... I have like F-D's in almost all of my classes (except math, which I just copy a friend's before class). It sucks, because homework for 1 doesn't help me study or remember, 2 it actually lowers my grades from A's to B+'s, and B's to C's
In conclusion, homework should only be for those who struggle with the material (not that I am perfect) |
