Wtf |

|
i was watchin wit dad and (we from pakistan so big deal) he told me basics
so there's two teams
first there's a team up and let's say it's india so the other team throws ball to india and they hit it with bat. say they hit it with bat and the other team (who has players set up across the field) catches the ball before it bounces on ground
that's an out
10 outs = next team's turn
if you hit the ball and it hits the boundary = 4 pts
if it goes OVER the boundary = 6 pts
and um you just get as many points as u can
until 10 outs or certain amount of 'runs' which is like hitting it i think
and then other team's chance and they have to get more/same amount of points |
|
|
Their a few ways to get out
1. If you hit the ball but someone catches it
2. There is a stump behind you, if the ball hits it or your legs blocks the ball from hitting it then you are out.
3. When you hit the ball but it doesnt go for a 4 you can run to the other side (think or running to 1st base) for 1 point, you can run back then forth for 2 points, but if the fielding team hits the ball on the stump before you reach them the you are out. |

"first there's a team up and let's say it's india so the other team throws ball to india and they hit it with bat. say they hit it with bat and the other team (who has players set up across the field) catches the ball before it bounces on ground"
there's many other ways you can get out.
if your wicket is hit in any way, you're out, whether you accidentally hit it with your own bat, the bowler hits it with the ball (that's his objective) or your wicket gets hit while you're running down the baseline after a hit
"if you hit the ball and it hits the boundary = 4 pts
if it goes OVER the boundary = 6 pts"
if it bounces and goes over the boundary it's 4 points
for it to be 6 points the ball can't touch the ground
"and um you just get as many points as u can
until 10 outs or certain amount of 'runs' which is like hitting it i think"
the runs are overs and if you're playing 20/20, you have 50 overs. 1 over = 6 balls.
so you have 300 balls and 10 batsmen to get as many points as you can.
"and then other team's chance and they have to get more/same amount of points"
same concept of baseball. each team either has one or two innings. |

new try watching t20 cricket
most cricket fans consider it inferior to 1 day cricket and test matches but it much shorter
but t20 matches dont happen that often besides the t20 world cup |

Rune pretty much explained it, but ill go more into detail.
Bowling: There are several different types of bowlers. Kinda like different pitches in Baseball. There are spin bowlers who have less velocity, but have a spin on the ball to curve throughout the bowl. Up to a fast bowlers, who can reach speeds up to 80 mph at a consistent basis. When bowling, you have to have at least part of your foot behind the the bowling line.
Batting: There are left and right batsman, when swinging they can be anywhere in the pitch, but it does make it easier to be wicketed out if you take 2 steps up and miss on a bowl. There is also Leg Before wicket, which results in the batter being out when they block the wicket posts.
Countries that are good:
Australia, New Zealand, India, South Africa, Sri Lanka
Players that you CANT miss watching:
Brendon McCullum (New Zealand), de Villiers (South Africa) |
|
|
So this is a different baseball? |
|
|
sri lanka just got embarrassed by south africa though :( |

Dark, once you get more into the rules it seems less and less similar.
Baseball is more to Rounders than it is to Cricket. |
