A lot of people responses to users' statements about ROBLOX being greedy, lazy, etc. are saying that ROBLOX does whatever it can to stay in business, making it OK to be lazy and stupid at times. Although it is true that ROBLOX is a business and as such needs money to stay in business, this argument isn't necessarily correct, and I'll explain why.
Developers that have games on the front page that stay on the front page use DevEx. In the past year, ROBLOX gave over $1M to developers for their work [http://blog.roblox.com/2014/09/game-devs-have-earned-half-a-million-dollars-through-devex/ The blog post is from August. Counting from when DevEx came out, from when the blog was posted, and to now adds to roughly $1M]. If the site didn't have DevEx, all of that money would go directly to the site itself, be it servers or workers. Sure, developers wouldn't be as good as they were, but in the long run ROBLOX would be making and putting more money into the site. The fact that ROBLOX can give millions of dollars to their game creators proves that ROBLOX is a financially stable business and can pay for all of their servers, making the fact that ROBLOX is in desperate need in money false.
Now, you might say that ROBLOX pays their developers because the devs make games for the players, making players want to buy BC and/or ROBUX. Although true, a ROBLOX without DevEx would still make profit compared to ROBLOX with DevEx. Let's look at newgrounds for example. In newgrounds, no one is paid to make flash games or animated movies, at least by the site anyway. Despite this, many good games and animations come from newgrounds. The same can be said with ROBLOX. ROBLOX without DevEx would have games that aren't as good as today, but nonetheless developers would still make games that people would play, be it for the sake of popularity or wanting the in-game currency. There would still be a level of competition between developers that encourages them to make good games, even if they aren't getting money.
Yes, ROBLOX is in fact a business and wants money to keep itself in business. But, as I have proved, they are doing fine financially and as such have no reason to be sloppy or lazy when it comes to providing their users with events, accessories, etc. when it comes to wanting money. In fact, enhancing events and accessories would increase profit, proving even further that ROBLOX isn't sloppy for the sake of money, which in turn makes this argument not true. |

honestly for a semi rich company like roblox i dont know why'd they give over 500k to a ton of people
seriously, yeah they make a ton of money, but just imagine, almost every 3 months 250k-500k is given out to 1 person.
honestly, if they did that they'd be losing so much money even though they make a ton. they're losing it.

in seriousness I agree roblox isn't greedy membership is $6 a month compared to most online games it's 10-20+ and recently they have been unlocking features to NBC, including the option to sell things even though you get 10% of it (asdasd) but yeah I agree roblox isn't greedy at all. |

but in my opinion roblox is lazy considering the recents roblox events
but i wouldn't consider them lazy like you said since builders club is $5 for a month and they're basically giving money to developers |
