"It all comes down to opinion, really. I thought Oblivion's combat was weak and the atmosphere was also very weak. "OH, NO, OBLIVION PORTALS! WE'LL NEED TO go about our lives and wait for the main character to sort everything out, barely mentioning it." But the quests and questlines in Oblivion had so much more attention to detail and were great. On the other hand, Skyrim had a very good combat, with dual wielding, shouts, etc and a good atmosphere. But the quests were weak and a lot were boring. tl;dr Skyrim did the things Oblivion did wrong right but messed up the good things about Oblivion." oblivions combat was good the shouts barely even make a difference at all, and you have to spend time finding all 3 parts to even make a shout good, in which you can only use like every 2 minutes. also, think about what you said about oblivion portals, now put that into perspective with alduin. "OH NO BAD ASS DRAGON THREATENING TO END THE WORLD? WE'll just wait until the dragon born travels to a different dimension to fight him. the dual wielding in skyrim was also weak as hell "look, i can swing my weapon in 2 more ways now!" the doc (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง

I see what you're saying, but a few things -dual wielding made sense and made it more fun -Oblivion combat was basically swing swing swing get parried get hit swing swing, although I guess it's the same for Skyrim -around 99.9% of Tamriel didn't know about Alduin, only the Dragonborn and the Blades -shouts were good lemme get my shovel

i didn't like how skyrim had the same playthrough over and over again if you beat the game that's why people like mods so they aren't forced to be dragonborn chicken nuggets are sinceriously delicious!

Some of Skyrim's quests fell flat too. Oblivion's The Great Heist and Dark Brotherhood quests were fun to do, and added depth to the game. -Common Sense: Use it.

also 90% of the fights in skyrim went 2 ways - You beat up the enemy slowly stunlocking them until they're dead - You get one shot by something super high level

there were too many GOD DAMN dragons they weren't even special by the time you reach level 20 they were basically like the green generic slimes of every game, just with more health and damage the doc (ง ͠° ͟ل͜ ͡°)ง
