Instead of allowing all guests to speak how about we do this:
Each guest gets a unique ID (like how we signed up players have) but it is assigned to their IP address. So say for instance, they can play as a guest and as soon as they do, an unique ID is assigned to them and they cannot change it unless they use another device. This will
1.) Make banning annoying guests in game easy and perminent.
2.) ROBLOX can ban all guests from that specific IP address or IDs.
Now, they don't get a user page, or any features besides being able to play games. They cannot rate, like, favorite. If they wish to, they will have to sign up.
Also, allow guests to speak, but leave it up to the game's creator to decide if guests can speak. Meaning, like how we have the option to set bubble chat, classic or both, they have an option to "Enable Guest Chat". There would be 3 choices:
Level 1.) Regular chat - typing chat
Level 2.) Menu chat - a chat menu that each game creator can customize to their game. They can only chat by using that pre selected text .
Level 3.) Disable Chat - removes all types of chat. Bubble and text.
This way, it makes all guests responsible for their actions because if they get banned from a game, they cannot just simply leave and rejoin and continue to cause issues. Once banned from a game on that guest account (which would be assigned to that IP address forever, unless reset by ROBLOX).
This allows the game creators and developers control guests in a way that is suitable for their players. It also makes managing guests easier because 9.99 times out of 10, guests are the hackers. And if a guest is found hacking, they can ban that guest which disables the player from being a guest on ROBLOX on that specific computer or device, and they will not be allowed to play again as a guest until they get a new IP or use another computer.
The only cons I think that are to this would be people saying "what's the difference from a guest and a person who signed up". It's simple:
Guests:
- play games
- chat based on the creators settings
Signed up (NBC, Bc or people who registered an account):
- Play games
- able to chat period
- make games
- join groups
- make groups
And everything else.
Yes guests are annoying, but some games just require communication. And taking or giving communication should be up to the games creator or developers.
If there are any errors or unclear things, just ask please. I am typing this on a phone so I apologize for any issues or errors.
Like always, stay BLOX-ing |

Woah, Social supports! If anyone supports would you please post the link to this thread in your blurb? I plan on messaging some staff via twitter and ROBLOX messaging. There cannot be change if people are unwilling to classify them self with every other oppressed person, and understand how they feel. |

Honestly guests are guests for a reason. |

You were a guest too, until you hit that sign up button. If you read my idea, guests stay guests. |

I guess support especially for chat level 2. However, I disapprove your advertising method for this idea. Just use "BUMP"s rather than spam all over this sub-forum and then flame thread owners who reply. Seriously, it's more annoying than everything people find annoying about guests combined.
Also, back on topic of the idea, what would be the default level? |

support because i love trolling as guest 666 with cookies XD |

Since there would be options to change the guest chat levels, it would be set to Level 1. And since that would be the case, NBC developers have access to change these chat levels. But BC should only be able to customize the bubble chat. |

this is a wonderful idea support 110% |

Clear answer is: Level 1.
As far as the Level 2 goes, all players BC or NBC can change these settings. Meaning NBC ad BC people can choose the level of chat they want guests to have. But BC people can create a custom bubble chat. The current one says 'Hi!" But BC people could modify it (at say, 50r$ per say 4 characters to help the roblox economy) so instead of just "Hi!" It could be "Hi, can someone help me" or even "Hi, I love this game!" |

"2.) ROBLOX can ban all guests from that specific IP address or IDs."
That's the reason why they don't allow guests to talk.
If they allowed them to talk, then people could abuse this system by playing on guest accounts and just changing their IP when they get banned.
It takes 10 seconds to change your IP, I know from experience. |

Yes it does not take long to change the IP address but players still do the same thing to get pass the IP ban. Assigning guest numbers specifically will help identify hackers. Right now say Guest 8365 is hacking a game, but leaves after it is reported, then joins again with Guest 9825. He is still hacking and nothing can be done because the report cannot really deal with guests because the numbers constantly change. I am very positive there is a way where you can ban a network despite the IP address changing. |
|
|
There is no LEGAL way to ban a user from a website other than IP banned them.
IP bans can be bypassed.
This system is flawed.
There is no reason for why guests should be able to talk.

Hacking in general is illegal, so if we can pin point guests that are hacking, actions can be taken. It is really simple. A guest assigned ID 100 hacks and is assigned to that IP, it gets reported, and the guest gets banned or IP blocked. They then change their IP address and get Guest 372 assigned to them. It is logical if a person who is say Guest 100 gets banned for hacking then 15 seconds later Guest 109 is reported for hacking, that that guest is Guest 100. Eventually they will give up changing IPs.
If you don't support because of that one reason, you have to understand that people, REGISTERED people, get banned all the time, and they do the same thing, make a new account and do the same thing. They are doing what everyone has always been doing. Stop looking for bad things that happen everyday and look at what good that can come from it.
Guests actually helping you survive in Apocalypse Rising, at Murder Mystery where they know who the murderer is and can tell people. If they experience good on ROBLOX from all registered players, they might stop being a guest and make an account. |

You cannot tell me that if your character right now was banned that you would not go and make another account. It is the SAME exact thing that the guests would be doing. Everyone hates guests because they "don't listen" but it goes both ways. You have to listen in order to be listened to. It is simple communication. Guests not having communication makes them act out because it is the only form of talking they can do.
Lets do this. Forget everything you know about ROBLOX. Now imagine you playing ROBLOX but you can not talk to anyone, any shape or form besides acting out and causing issues to get people to see what you're doing. Would you still want to play? |

"Hacking in general is illegal"
Changing your IP is not illegal.
Using exploits that you found on youtube is not illegal either.
No one on ROBLOX actually hacks, so therefor no one can be persecuted. |
