Yes, but Europeans, etc. grew naturally lighter skin for a few reasons:
1. Moving north/south of the equator.
2. And the advancement of technology.
So, the natural "white" person has less melanin than a darker "black" person.

@Data, Concept of color isn't just in the human eyes. lmao.
The perception of light comes from the electrons moving from suborbital to suborbital which causes different colors, and every specie can see light. |
