Welcome to the Austrian Army! Within this forum, I will explain the functions, commands, and taboos of the Austrian army in detail. In order for you to pass the rank of Cadet, you will need to memorize this manual and know it all inside out. ARTICLE I: Discipline/Conduct Discipline is mandatory for any army to function in a well-mannered fashion, without it, an army is useless. Discipline includes: -Act mature at all times. Immaturity will be court marshaled. -Do NOT EVER disrespect any other Austrian Army member or ally. -Cadet-Sergeant Major are to be referred by their rank while Second Lieutenant-Field Marshal are to be referred to as "Herr". -Never show disrespect to your enemy. They deserve limited respect as well. -Always remember to greet your superiors. -DO NOT communicate directly with the High Command aside from greeting. If you must, you have to go through a Non-Commissioned Officer (Sergeant-Sergeant Major). State the reason of conversation. If the conversation is private and is completely useless to the High Commander, punishment will be eminent. -All Austrian members are to NEVER team-kill anyone of their colleagues. This is a crime and will be taken extremely serious. -You are to refer to the Kaiser and the Queen as Your Majesty or Sire. Refer to the Archduke as "Your Grace" and the Minister-President as "Your Excellency". -Non-Commissioned Officers are NEVER to befriend lower ranks as well as superiors. Befriend your rank group. -Lower ranks and non-Commissioned Officers are to never interrupt a Field Grade Officer or General while he is indulging in an activity. -Use common sense. I shouldn't even need to say this, if this guide does not refer to a field, you are to use your COMMON sense in that field. If you have bad judgement and make a bad decision, you'll be punished. If you make good judgement and make a good decision, you'll be rewarded. ARTICLE II: Line Training You MUST know this article in order to function properly during trainings. The commands are as followed: -STS is short for Shoulder to Shoulder. Shoulder to shoulder must be preformed in rank order. Starting from the lowest rank on the left and highest on the right. -ON ME is the command for you to form a single file line behind the commanding Officer. -Forming double ranks. When forming double ranks, you will be asked to COUNT OFF. When this command is given, starting from the right, you will say 1, 2, 1, 2, 1, 2 and so on... Ones will then go behind twos resulting in double ranks. -Stagger formation. When forming stagger formation, you will again be asked to COUNT OFF. Same applies to stagger. 1, 2, 1, 2, etc... Ones will retire three paces (six taps to S[WASD]). -Shoulder arms, Press F. -Port arms, Press N. -Fix Bayonet, Press B. -Address Bayonet, Press B ones the bayonet is attached. -Reload, press R. -Volley fire. Volley fire is the command at which the whole line fires in one motion and makes it sound like one shot. A perfect volley is that which can sound like one shot. When the commander says "MAKE READY", Port arms. He will then say, "PRESENT", press N again to present your arms. The last command will be "FIRE", I think that one is self-explanatory. This type of firing is the default type of fire. -Ripple fire. Ripple fire is the command where you fire one by one starting from the side at which the commander is standing on. For example, there are four people in a line named Sam, Jack, Tim and Tom. Sam is on the left while tom is on the right. The commander is standing on the right. Tom will fire, then tim then Jack, then Sam. Vice versa as well. Commander list is as follows; RIPPLE FIRE, MAKE READY, PRESENT, FIRE! (Port at Make ready as usual). -Blanket fire. Blanket fire is essentially fire at will. The command list is as follows; BLANKET FIRE, MAKE READY, PRESENT, FIRE! Once the commander is ready to halt the fire, he will say "CEASE". -RELOADING. After any type of fire, you will either have the option to auto-reload or reload on command. When you have your bayonet attached, DO NOT AUTO-RELOAD. When you do not have your bayonet attached, reload at will after any type of fire. ARTICLE III: Further Conduct and Elusivity on Promotions PROMOTIONS. Whatever you do, DO NOT ASK FOR PROMOTIONS. This cannot be emphasized enough. Spamming an Officer or General’s inbox with promotion messages will get you nowhere. In fact, the officers will be more inclined to NOT GIVE you a promotion. It is just a nuisance. The following table will explain how each rank is to gain the next rank or further promote themselves within the ranks; Cadet; Finish the Royal Cadet Academy Recruit-Corporal; Attend trainings and raids in order to be promoted Sergeant-Sergeant Major; Finish the Officer academy. Second Lieutenant-Colonel; Host raids and trainings, loses do not count for raids. Brigadier General-Field Marshal; His Majesty choses his Generals and Field Marshals. If the Officer thinks you do not deserve the promotion, you will not be promoted. Generals and Field Grade Officers are to serve three hours each weekday while also serving 6 each weekend day (Saturday, Sunday). NOTE: THE HOURS ARE TO SOLELY MAINTAIN YOUR RANK. IF YOU WANT TO ADVANCE YOU MUST SERVE EXTRA HOURS. Patrol! Remember, there is a good chance an Officer might think you deserve a promotion solely because you’re patrolling. As a former Officer and General it is lovely when you see soldiers patrolling on their own. ARTICLE IV: Conclusion Remember, abide by these rules and you will do just fine as a soldier in the Ottoman Empire. Good day! ~His Holiness, Emperor Francis I
