They both require different skillsets, especially in the higher levels, but saying one is better than the other is nonsense since they're different ways of fighting
Guns:
-Aim and dodging
-Map knowledge
-Health management
-Terrain usage
-Communication
-Skill gained through muscle memory, practice
Swords:
-Capitalizing on opponent's mistakes
-Creating opportunities to kill opponents
-Figuring out a style that works
-Figuring out different ways to kill the opponent
-Patience
-Figuring out the opponent's style and switching up your own based off of that
-Terrain usage
-Map knowledge
-Skill gained through practice, observation, good ol' research
Probably missing some stuff so feel free to chime in, s'my opinion though |

to be honest, if i don't practice with guns constantly, i become unable to use them, however with swords, i don't have to practice with them to use them, and yet i can use them easily, idk if it comes from experience having use to use them a bunch, then stopping, but it's weird. |

Guns are way more dependent on practice while swords are way more dependent on knowledge and experience I'd say |
|
|
for swords there's a little health management too

I dunno, I think with swords you have to be extra careful since no matter what they're health's at they can get you in one hit
With guns basically if you have more health you're waay more likely to win the fight |

Depends on the type of gun fighting
Usually swords don't vary, they're generally just linked swords. For guns, though, if you're not RCLing you generally have different weapons. Someone could have a sniper at 10 health and the person who got him there has an SMG with 80. Sniper pops out and kills him. |

Ye that's another good point to make gunfighting involves adapting to lots of different kinds of guns whereas swordfighting is just linkedswords |

Some people are harder to tie than others lol |
|

In both instances the higher the health the greater the advantage, sense your goal is to defeat your opponent having higher health than the opponent implies at least partial success. |

Fencing is harder than regular sword fighting because there is no ties just win or lose straight up. |

if you're fighting someone who at least knows the basics he's always going to try swerve away from your attacks, so you're not going to kill someone with one lunge right away

@hack not really in sword fighting you could have 10 health bars and tie with a person with full health |
|
|
What do you mean by fencing then? |
|
BomberguyJoin Date: 2009-06-10 Post Count: 3245 |
You could also have 10 health and easily kill the other person in an instant, the fight's not over until someone's dead when it comes to swords |
|
|
I was just kidding but I dont tie alot in my duels usually
or back when i did duel :3. |

First off I just noticed I use they're instead of their d'oh
And yeah that's a good point, that's a situation that some people handle better than others based on how good they are at dealing with it |
