>40 players at most >a grand total of four maps and one extra map as a Day One DLC >no space battles yeah, I'm sticking to Battlefront II --|GET YOUR ASS IN THE VAN|--

it's a remake/reboot of the very first battlefront game battlefront 1 didnt have space battles but it has dogfights over the map (which i found to be cooler) it's not a remake of battlefront 2

as a quote, regarding this exact thing: "here's an open letter to every game developer currently in existance: if you're gonna make a f*cking sequel make it better than the game it's f*cking replacing" it fits this so well seriously there was no reason to remove space battles, especially since I distinctly remember there being advertisement for smooth ground to space combat transition in air vehicles 40-player servers... BF2 had 64-player MP, and that 40 players size is still just for specific game modes, the rest will apparently be smaller, down to just 8 players and as for the maps, I'll bring out a quote again: "Holy f*cking sht EA don't overwhelm us with your generosity" the partner system seems interesting, though, and while I kind of liked the class system the new weapon choice system looks cool too --|GET YOUR ASS IN THE VAN|--

regardless BF2's space battles > Battlefront's dogfights I still sometimes play Battlefront the first on my PS2. The dogfight thing was meh, you could fly around and shoot the other guy in the other fighter, but it wasn't relevant to the battle. Battlefield has that. Such dogfights are also often irrelevant to the rest of the battle. Battlefront II Space battles on the other hand involved piling into a shuttle to storm the enemy ship while your team mate fly's escort and then takes out external systems while you storm the control rooms. Or, in theory it does. In practice it's usually an every man for himself rush to grab the ship you want and then ditch the rest of your team. --|GET YOUR ASS IN THE VAN|--

If the reduced player count means transitioning from space to ground or maps bigger than say, Golmud Railway or Silk Road for BF4, I'm down for it. If not, I'm going back to Battlefront II and putting in some graphical mods.

Personally, I feel like the Clone Wars has a lot of potential in terms of vehicles and weaponry so I'd be disappointed if it doesn't make an appearance at least with DLC.

but having star-fighters shooting at each other overhead while you're in a firefight is badass

there was literally only one map where planes had any effect on the match and that was geonosis, where destroying the Union ships removed three spawn points, and the droids were OP enough on that map that you couldn't match them on foot bespin - cloud city also had a lot of aerial combat, if you were one of the people who managed to grab a ship compared to the space battles of BF2, with the excitement of massive space engagements and boarding enemy capital ships to fight through the corridors... yeah, I'd take BFII over BF there. --|GET YOUR ASS IN THE VAN|--

@Lord. Hoth, had a effect on the match too. But only the rebels had snow speeders. :L.
