The General composition layout is perfectly fine and I can make icons good out of that
But a Contrast limit? Really? ROBLOX was meant to make us edit our icons so we can get them approved.
I think ROBLOX is too strict on Icons but some limitations should be kept,
like the ability to keep from copying other company/game logos
and the ability to keep from text covering the logo.
Overall Icon Rules are too strict in a way. I need icons to be strict, but not too strict so it makes everyone mad. |

The guidelines are fine.
Contrast limit exists so you don't have too dark or too bright of an image.
Every other game development studio has a dedicated team to make their graphics, and basically all they do is slap brushes together and then use White Balance.
Is it that bad to have ROBLOX ask you to click 2 buttons, Color, then White Balance, just to make sure your icon looks good? |

Contrast limits are a problem because we have absolutely NO IDEA on what the perfect balance of contrast is.

That's why White Balance exists.
If you've got a color that becomes a problem, then just go and change it's hue after the filter goes through.
White Balance will automatically do it for you. All you have to do is change the colors if you're not satisfied with them. |

Look at the blog post. Set your monitor as it says on the blog post and then look at the section for contrast, specifically the example icons, and just try and aim towards that I suppose
