Support this by saying the words, "I support more, developer control!" on this forum post, on similar forum posts, on twitter, in games, to friends, to any developer!
The time is now friends, to get more developer control for the following aspects of our games...
-ALL User-interface items must be editable with properties and have the option to be completely customized.
-A wider selection of properties that effect the aesthetic appeal of ALL objects that can in some way be seen within the virtual world. This includes, but should by no means be limited to, color, size, texture, brightness, pattern, font, reflectiveness and transparency.
-Smooth terrain must be thoroughly checked to make sure that it contains what tools most smooth terrain editors would usually have.
-A more vast array of scripting options so that we may calibrate our games in a more streamlined, professional and intuitive way... (Just like how real game developers would within a company that makes well known games... such as Mojang and Blizzard) Restrictions are fine, however the admins of roblox must work around them to give of us a similar but seamless experience.
-The power to add and take away certain aspects of physics and mechanics that we would like to. This could very possibly help certain people concentrate on embellishing certain game aspects more than others, so that people may reduce lag and latency issues created by needless processes. Also, easy to understand steps must be laid out for people who are not script savvy, just in case they would like to benefit from these abilities.
I respect what Roblox does for us everyday, but we must not stand by while it gets pushed down by the "bigger" developing platforms. ROBLOX IS OUR HOME AND WE MUST TELL THE ADMINS THAT WE NEED MORE DEVELPOR CONTROL SO WE CAN SHOW EVERYONE WHO WE ARE, A COMMUNITY THAT BUILDS THE GAME!
Thank you.

what do you mean of more dev control? Do you mean that the devs become the overloards of ROBLOX, and be corrupt and the community to dislike them cause of the authoritarian control. |

"-ALL User-interface items must be editable with properties and have the option to be completely customized."
They change their UI and suddenly everyone flips. It isn't that big of a deal and barely interrupts gameplay, if at all.
"-A wider selection of properties that effect the aesthetic appeal of ALL objects that can in some way be seen within the virtual world. This includes, but should by no means be limited to, color, size, texture, brightness, pattern, font, reflectiveness and transparency."
Already possible. It's called either scripting or uploading a decal then using a texture.
"-Smooth terrain must be thoroughly checked to make sure that it contains what tools most smooth terrain editors would usually have."
It isn't even out, how can you say anything about it?
"-A more vast array of scripting options so that we may calibrate our games in a more streamlined, professional and intuitive way... For your information, those restrictions are a way to prevent exploiters (and ourselves) from breaking the game.
"-The power to add and take away certain aspects of physics and mechanics that we would like to. Considering its possible to break apart the one common aspect between all ROBLOX games. Not even sure if this is possible as then we would need to download separate game browsers for each game we play.
As a developer, I can say that ROBLOX gives its users a vast amount of control to do almost everything they want. Any updates they make are to improve the overall experience of the game. The only thing you should really be saying is to have ROBLOX beta test their updates on gametest like they used to. When you look at ROBLOX's overall updates, they vastly improve the gaming experience. And guess what, when ROBLOX makes security updates that break games, there really isn't a way to tell ROBLOX to not release those updates as they are needed. For all you know, these updates may be involved within a bigger update. |

""I support more, developer control!""
Nice comma placement.
"ALL User-interface items must be editable with properties and have the option to be completely customized."
Yes.
"A wider selection of properties that effect the aesthetic appeal of ALL objects that can in some way be seen within the virtual world. This includes, but should by no means be limited to, color, size, texture, brightness, pattern, font, reflectiveness and transparency."
Also yes. Options are nice.
"Smooth terrain must be thoroughly checked to make sure that it contains what tools most smooth terrain editors would usually have."
Seems like a no-brainer.
"A more vast array of scripting options so that we may calibrate our games in a more streamlined, professional and intuitive way."
Elaborate?
"The power to add and take away certain aspects of physics and mechanics that we would like to. Sure!

This would be great, people could possibly bring back older things that were broken! |

"Elaborate?"
Let me explain, what I tried to say was that, yes, there are scripting restrictions for a reason, even though it keeps the scripters from doing CERTAIN things. I say keep it the way it is, BUT give scripters the ILLISION that they are still doing those CERTAIN things by setting up a special system. Don't you think people should feel like they are scripting for "real" by sugar coating these restrictions, even thought the restriction are still there?
Make sense I hope?

Illusion is the proper spelling.
I actually don't understand it because I don't actually know what all these restrictions are. I'm totally fine with removing a few of them or increasing the options in a different way, provided it doesn't kill anyone. |
