I was looking through some games today, and I noticed that there are a lot of unique and impressive games not receiving the proper attention. Now I understand that the advertising feature is supposed to help solve this issue, but I dont feel its getting to the NBC users as much as it should be due to the fact that they receive external advertising. This is a large form of revenue for ROBLOX and that cant be changed, but there is something else. I propose the idea that the ROBLOX blog team could sift through game once a week, and feature a game they feel needs attention on their blog as a weekly thing. It would help ring some attention to new ROBLOX devs, and would be a fun thing to look forward to on the blog a week. tl;dr- The blog could look for a game every week to feature and put it in some sort of section on the blog. Any thoughts or opinions?

I agree entirely. However, since this is titled "help for upcoming developers", I'm going to contribute some of my own advice. This is an alternate account, and my main account is OBC, so I can't exactly empathize with you here. However, if you're looking for more attention, I can help; I have daily sales of models. 1) First, make a quality game. There are three things I usually see in a quality game on ROBLOX: enjoyability, motivation, and replayability. If a game is enjoyable, players will like it more (better ratings). If a game gives the player a lot of motivations (in-game goals, cool bonuses, etc.) the player will stay longer and be more likely to come back again. If the game has a high replay value, then the game will keep getting visits. 2) Use advertisements. They will still be seen by BC players, and if you make a good advertisement, it will get noticed. Even if it doesn't, that initial sampling of players is always nice. 3) Post it on Game Marketing. That's what initially kicked off my model sales. Game Marketing is a forum literally made for you to advertise your stuff: models to take, games that need testers, clothes you want to be critiqued, etc.. There is no wrong way to do it on Game Marketing (except help requests...).

Im not looking for any attention, im looking to see other great developers do. Im not a super dev myself, but I enjoy seeing hard working people get what they deserve. And besides, there's a lot of cool things devs have done that go unnoticed by the public.

I didnt explain myself very well in the previous post, I forgot to include the fact that the word dev receives a negative annotation these days and thats simply not true. Theres a lot of unique, caring, and original devs out there that desperately need recognition.

I agree, there should be more support for devs. I don't like how they're doing their advertising. But remember to make sure they know to do what I said above if you're in contact with them. SUPPORT
