I hate death metal

I don't get it, what's to like? It's random thrashing on the guitar, pounding on the drums, and cookie monster vocals all with these lyrics... I'm more of a 70's-80's kind of metal person.

Heh, to each his own. I really enjoy the drumming in alot of Death Metal songs! The speed really gets me pumped. The vocals are really great too. I would say its the modern day ATTEMPT of bands like Krator, Exodus and Destruction.

Harold, while you are entitled to your own opinion, not all death metal is like how you describe it. Listen to bands like Death, Opeth, Cynic, Atheist, Meshuggah, and Arch Enemy. They add progressive and melodic elements to their music, and are much more than just screaming.

I like all kinds of metal. I personally like death metal, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Everyone has their own opinions until someone mentions Twilight or Disney...silly two-faced children. But yes, everyone has the right to their opinion; however that doesn't give you the right to flaunt it if you can't back it up. Harold's half right. There are some bands that have really groggy vocals, but most of death metal is melodic and symphonic compared to what you're saying it is.
