Some capes are gear and it would be nice to be able wear them in game. Of course this means that, in most games, their abilities will have to be taken away so they are purely cosmetic and nothing else.
That would add demand for gear, but no support. A lot of games have tools they want the players to use, and gear can get in the way of being able to use those tools.
