I've had it with the Roblox is greedy bull turds. This thread is to get people to quit complaining, pick up an instrument, and head down to a New Orleans street corner and play jazz to make money.
First off, Roblox is a company. They are not a non-profit organization, they are not a volunteer organization. They are a company. All companies are built to make money. While making the people in the company money, it also provides a service to the community.
Now, a non-profit organization is different in that it aims not to make money for itself, but for OTHERS. Let’s take an organization that is raising money for cancer cure research. They don't make money, and they tend to be volunteer only.
So, what does it take to keep Roblox alive? Well for starters, they need people who are willing to pony up a little cash. This little bit of cash is then used to pay Roblox employees, and other expenses. It is also used for something bigger.
Your computer, is but one CPU. One, piece of data storage. Your computer, would not be able to run all of the servers of front page games at once. What does it need? Something that looks like this: https://www.cloudyn.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Servers-Server-Farm-Engine-Room.jpg
Now, every one of those green lights, is a computer. That, is a lot of computers. This is what makes a server, and when you have that many, its called a server farm. In order for Roblox to store the millions of bits of data from your hats, gear, models, places, EVERYTHING, it needs a massive server farm. Server farms are the only thing that can handle this job.
Server farms need a lot of power to run. They also need to have in-house cooling systems to keep them from overheating, which costs even more money on the energy bill. The reason Roblox is not very shy about getting money, is because it needs it. Server farms can cost your entire family's yearly income in one month.
The reason Roblox seems to be "greedy", is because they need to keep these servers maintained. Think about it. Builderman, the guy who was first on your friends list, and ever since the friends and followers update, has 67,873,951 followers. That is roughly if not more than half of the accounts on Roblox. Now not every user has a single place. Say every user had ten places. Now add up their inventory, and give the total of that massive number, and you get an even large number.
This is called data. And on Roblox, there is a crap ton of it that needs to be stored. For this reason, the majority of Roblox's money is being spent on servers. This is speculation, but it probably is fact.
The NBC community needs to realize the simple fact, that the majority of users are NBC. They also need to realize, that they are the ones being greedy, when asking for ten robux a day. At the minimum, NBC makes one robux every two days with the current average of exchange rates. NBC's that are not actively buying builders club or robux, are not contributing to keeping Roblox alive other then another mark on the number of registered accounts.
In other terms, there is no way in hell you are ever getting a daily robux stipend of ten robux daily. No. Way. In. Hell.
Because you have deemed roblox to greedy, to help them keep their game alive by ponying up some cash to keep them in business.
So, pick up a trumpet or some instrument, head down to New Orleans, and start playing Jazz. Then come back and get builders club. |
