Turn Around By Daedalus26 Aaron's dream came in the middle of the night. Aaron had just woken up from a horrific dream of a flying rattlesnake chasing him around a pond that was in the middle of a forest that surrounded a school he used to go to. He had woken up in a cold sweat and his pillow and sheets were soaked with sweat. It was the middle of summer and Aaron usually slept on top of the covers with his head lying on a pillow that had spent the day in the freezer covered in ice cubes. Today was different, though, as Aaron had forgotten to put his pillow in the old ice box. Instead his pillow had spent the day sunbathing in the hot summer sun. Aaron decided to go back to sleep but only after he got a glass of water. Aaron knew that sweating that much couldn't be good for him; anyway he was thirsty. He went into the kitchen as quietly as he could, then decided to go back and get his pillow. He figured that he could put it back in the freezer so not only would the sweat freeze off but it would be just that much colder tomorrow. He got his glass of purified water from the extension from the tap and then headed back to the freezer to stuff his pillow in and grab approximately two ice cubes. Aaron pushed his pillow in between the frozen pizza and some frozen strawberries. He grabbed the ice and dropped them in his drink. Then in a spur of the moment decision he grabbed some chocolate chip cookies from the cookie jar and grabbed a little pack of ranch dressing from the soup and salad place down the street and lay down on the couch to enjoy his little treat. Once Aaron had finished his midnight snack of chocolate chip cookies and ranch he tossed the remains in the trash and went into the bathroom to brush his teeth and use the can. After his business was done Aaron headed back into the living room and turned off the little lamp that had helped him to see what he was scooping the ranch onto. He began to relax as he slowly slipped into sleep, then finally he was asleep. In his dream Aaron was both standing in a large white room and watching himself from above. In front of him was a large, glowing white man. And he was not white in the sense of skin color but like a white-hot metal. In truth Aaron could not distinguish if it was male or female. The being was neither clothed or naked. It was neither tall nor short, large or small (against Aaron's first guesses), neither young nor old, neither here nor there. It just WAS! Turn around, said the great being. But Aaron heard nothing. The words appeared in Aaron's mind. “Why?”, Aaron asked. Turn around, said the great being yet again. Once more Aaron demanded to know why. And once again the being told Aaron to turn around. To Aaron this seemed to go on forever yet strangely Aaron knew no time had passed. The next time the great being asked him to turn around Aaron finally submitted to its will and turned around.
