According to Dunbar's number (a legit study), an average human is able to maintain up to only 150 stable relationships. This is theoretical, however. Over 150 friends is pretty useless because you probably won't have a meaningful relationship with them. I do realize that these are online relationships in which you won't get to know the whole person, but I still believe the friends cap is fine.

"Well, let me put a scenario for you people. Imagine you have maxed your friends list because so many people send you random in-game friend requests that you are tired of getting them and accept them" I currently have 3000 pending FRs (used to have 30000). I constantly get in-game friend request. It's pretty easy to ignore, actually. Either give them a good reason why you won't accept, or just blatantly ignore them. And like (almost) everyone else said, having more than 150 friends doesn't make any sense. That's probably one reason why ROBLOX made the new friend system. If you want more than 150 friends based solely on the purpose of self-achievement, it's a pretty shallow goal. Just follow them, as you'll most likely never talk to them again. And that's still a way to record who you've seen in games and such. No support, as ROBLOX actually improved something on this site.

""Friends" on Roblox are now what "best friends" were. Two-hundred is a very reasonable cap for this, I think. The followers are what friends were, so make as many as you want! This new system was implemented for people like you: People who enjoy having lots of "friends." Many people had thousands of friends, but could only have 20 that they could keep up with via feed. Now you have 200! So enjoy it. This was made for people like you." I wouldn't be complaining if they just made a bar for followers, like they did for friends. Although I'm not trying to hate on what you're saying, I'm just saying that this is the problem in the first place. Call them followers, semi-friends, fart bags, I don't care, just make it to where you can have more interaction with them.

"You can't force your stupid opinion on ROBLOX. A friend is someone who is close to you, someone who you like to be with and play with. ROBLOX created the friends and followers feature to make friendship on ROBLOX more of a thing, and to prevent the friends system from becoming a worthless piece of crap that wastes server space. They never will want or intend for idiots like you to reduce a feature they spent time coding to a worthless webpage that takes up their precious server space. Friends are friends. Can you maintain over 200 friends? No. And don't say that you can. It'll only tell me that you are someone who just gains friends for a larger ego. And those 200+ friends you would tell me about would not even be friends. A person with actual friends wouldn't have over somewhere around 30. Maybe some would have over 100. Somehow. But there is no way that they would have over 200 actual friends." I'm not forcing my opinion. I'm suggesting an idea and supporting it, whether it involves my opinion, I'm not saying, "Well, you HAVE to not have a friends limit." Also, how does it take up server space? By having a sign on the player list in-game, saying that someone in the server is your friend? And they wouldn't be reducing it, at least I think. Especially since the old friends system worked for 4 years, maybe longer. I don't know about pre-2011. Obviously I can't MAINTAIN over 200 friends, but it's the internet. Might I add that some of my "friends" that sent me random friend requests have become actual friends in time.

Now @ all the people saying you can't have over 200 friends. I could replace the word friend with any other word and you people would be OK with it. It's because you are so literal and so you would say the same thing if "follower" was replaced with "friend". The only difference is that both people have to agree to the request, and I see that as being your only possible way to make such a deal about "friends". But this doesn't even effect you if you don't want that many friends. You act like I'm suggesting that we reset all usernames or something radical like that. But this is minor, especially if you don't want to participate in having over 200 friends. And like I said, if they just added a bar for followers or some way to interact with them more, then I might not be complaining.

You'd like a bar on your homepage similar to the friends bar, right? That could be useful, but, in my opinion, it would add more clutter to an already messy homepage. I do get your point, though, and it is a valid one. ~OT Arkham Knight~

Nobody alive except for a select few who train specifically for this can keep up with 200 friends. If you want more, just use the follow system.

"Nobody alive except for a select few who train specifically for this can keep up with 200 friends. If you want more, just use the follow system." And as I said, friends, followers, the only difference is the name and the fact that you interact more with "friends" than you do followers... So, I don't even care if friends and followers become the same thing, just make it to where you either don't have a limit on "friends", or (to stop you people from ranting about something pointless, like the name of something) just make it to where you have more interaction with "followers"(Which is pretty much the same thing!) So please, just stop this pointlessness, because all ROBLOX would have to do is re-name "followers" to "friends" and THEN you people would complain about it. And even if you disagree with me, and they applied this update, it would not affect YOU. You can keep 18 friends if you want to, while others can have 5000 if they want to, and if they have 5000 friends that does not effect YOU.

You didn't counter it. You only (hardly) countered one argument. If other peoples' responses weren't distinct enough, it's your job to sort that out. You can't just address one person's response and say you addressed everyone's.

I do not know why this has gone with so many posts and why a roblox developer or whoever is in charge of updates reply to the post and say if they will implement the update instead of wasting everyone's time,I feel I already know the answer but it could be different, maybe not enough time or not enough staff. I really wish they looked at our post since they have a flood watch which is staff checking the forums, couldn't they check the posts for good ideas.

Nobody needs more than 200 friends. People who want this limit removed just want to show off their friend count.

#164780128Wednesday, June 17, 2015 9:23 PM GMT

What is the point of showing off how many friends you have? It's most likely you will only talk to these people once or twice. Before, I had over 200 friends and I thought it was pretty dumb to waste my friend space. So I kept my close friends and got rid of my friends I don't talk to. That's the point of the followers system. To get rid of people you don't really talk to see what you are doing. I don't see a point of removing the friend cap. Having over 1000+ friends doesn't make you famous because it's kind of worthless. These people won't make you famous in real life, and it's just a big mess! lenny apruvd ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
