(( This is based off of the game, Fallout, this is going to work like Prequel Adventure or more of you into it, Homestruck. After (if you do read) you read the latest comment by OP (me, Riversparks) you write down what the character does.

You wake, somewhere in a trailer. You stand up from the bed, not knowing where you are, your name or whatever.
You listen to the radio playing (you also wonder how it works without being plugged in, you weren't always wise with technology of the old world...) - the lively radio host says "HELLO CAPITAL WASTELAND!". After taking in that info, you now know you're in or near DC, at least you know what happened!
You think for several minutes, trying to remember your name. You just don't seem to remember it. You sigh, saying "F*** it.". Again, taking some time to think about it, you decide to re-name yourself!

You look at the mirror, you of course look at yourself. You think to yourself, at your feminine look - you agree on the name Penny. You smile at the thought of your new name.
But, you decide on new matters. First off, you think "where should I go". You leave the trailer and go to the cliff that's near it.
You look over, you see three possible destinations. Right of your view (maybe it's east, north?) you see a town, it's covered and protected by some metal, big metal. Ahead of you see a cave, maybe a vault, you laugh (no one laughs with you... aw :( ). Now, left of you you see a trade caravan.

You think about it and decide on the caravan. You could always explore those towns later, you think to yourself.
You do a quick speed walk towards the caravan, hoping you don't get shot. Once you get to the caravan, you wave nervously.
They look at you, but keep traveling.
