Out of every player who skated at least one game in the NHL in the 2014-15 season 24.9% (243 players) are from Europe (Countries represented in this are Austria, Belarus, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Russia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Sweden, and Switzerland) 24.3% (237 players) are from the USA

One of the European players worthy of note is the lone Croatian player, Borna Rendulić. He is the first Croatian born and trained player in the NHL, having played 11 games for Colorado.
