Ono did NOT break up the Beatles. That is a common(and annoying) mis-conception. While she DID contribute to it(as in, she was the cause of Lennon not being at the first bit of the Let It Be/Get Back sessions), the main reason was that everyone was miserable. I don't know the EXACT details, but I do know that the major cause of it was the constant disagreement between the band members, the horrible conditions in the studio, every band member wanting everything his way, etc etc.
If you really think about it, it's mostly McCartney's fault. Not only did he try to take over the Let It Be/Get Back sessions, he was also the first to leave the Beatles and was also the one who filed for the dissolution of the Beatles around the end of December in 1970(but it never officialy happened until 1975).
But the band member's marriages might have also played a big role in the break-up. It's hard to raise a family and all if your in the studio all day, recording songs under miserable conditions. |
