i dont see how they're boring, you're probably only scraping the surface. from a bassist's perspective (my own) it makes me erect as soon as they transition in to the 9:8 time sigs and other stuff like that. the weird rhythm changes and the offbeats, uahgghh. Live Laugh Logaids

man, it's just generic cheesy fedoracore. I like prog like the next guy but I think it's bad.

they're boring because it feels like they value technicality over songwriting

their best song is pull me under cuz it's not too technical.

i think the technicality is a very nice listen. if you look at a lot of the lines in this they can be very simple and only follow one pattern. in change of season the first movement is basically one big pattern. Live Laugh Logaids

A very technical album I enjoy is rescue and restore by August burns red. A bit of a different listen but they do well to add beauty into their technicality. Also if u want a good 24 minutes of ur life spent, check out my EP. www.echo-echo-echo.bandcamp.com/releases

ABR is definitely a nice listen, they show how to make technicality interesting. the breakdowns feel super complex and layered compared to your generic CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG CHUG band. even /r/metal, one of the worst metal communities, respects ABR more than your average metalcore band and associate them with the acts of killswitch/shadows fall/all that remains even though they are a newer band. i don't care at all about technicality unless it has some musical appeal that isn't just noodling to show how good the players are. https://youtu.be/AXpdx-FTrgM?list=RD9ZcW8UHsevE is significantly more interesting than https://youtu.be/tJ7Y4SNj6u8 for example

i enjoy bands who are technical, but there needs to be good songwriting too
