@MrGrimmer Just imagine it in writing of the episode "so, we gotta think of a way to get the rebels onto the ship without getting killed. anyone got any ideas?" "i got one. let's make it that that tie fighter has some sort of EMP that can knock out power in the ENTIRE STAR DESTROYER and disable all of the crew except for the inquisitor and the people on the bridge" "THAT'S PERFECT! YOU GET A PROMOTION!" "OH BOY! WHAT PROMOTION!" "YOU GET TO DIRECT THE EPISODE!"

Star Wars: Rebels is a perfect example of how corporate greed actually works. Star Wars: The Clone Wars was reaching the end of the series when Disney purchased the Star Wars franchise from George Lucas. During this time, Yoda was contemplating death and the future when he was confronted from the five symbols of human emotion. This was used to foreshadow the end of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Less we forget the clone trooper's story arch in which they figured out what execute order 66 actually was. Disney stopped the show right there which was the worst timing they could actually do. They decided to "make it up to us" by airing a more "toned down" version of the show that would "appeal to all audiences." They gave us some random kid who wants to play jedi with a wookie reject, vagabond middle aged man, punk rock stereotype girl and some random alien who have the sudden urge to overthrow the empire. Now we're stuck having to watch what Disney views as quality television with it's severely watered down fight scenes, lack of intensity, boring character designs, terribly designed weapons, lack of explanation and sudden interest in bringing back characters who they should've brought back at the end. How are you going to bring back Ahsoka with out explaining what happened to Barris Offee? What happened to Asajj Ventress? What happened to Grievous? How did Captain Rex, who was foreshadowed to die, come back to life? How the hell did Greggor Survive? Most importantly, why doesn't the cast consist of the jedi young-lings Ahsoka and Yoda trained?

and yet its getting good reviews from users on most major review sites seems like people who come in from a neutral standpoint are enjoying it more than people who criticize it based on other shows

Sorry, I don't mean General Grievous. I meant to say: "What happened to Plo Koon?"

I think I read in one comment on a video of the show that in Episode IV (A New Hope), all of the jedis are dead. So that means, three of our characters will die by the end of the show.

Jonny, it's not about neutrality. This is supposed to be a CONTINUATION of a past series. How can you continue something if you don't even base it off of what previously happened? The entire show makes no sense because Disney didn't allow it the creative control that Cartoon Network did. If they can show reruns of Doctor Who? on Disney XD and give Gravity Falls "special permission" to be funny then they can compensate Star Wars Rebels to be better than what it actually is. You can barely the show seriously as it is. It's making a mockery of everything the previous series laid out for us.

the creator has already said that rebels isnt a continuation of clone wars, its a prequel to the star wars series and is its own thing and again, notice how the only people saying they hate the show are the people who refuse to look at it as a stand alone thing, and choose to compare it to a different show

#167610938Wednesday, July 15, 2015 1:43 AM GMT

That is actually untrue. I went to a comic book convention in May with the special guests being Steve Blum and Phil Lamaar. You should know that they are the voices of Bail Organa and the wookie reject. Phil Lamaar stated that Rebels was a continuation of the clone wars and he doesn't view them as being a separate show but rather just one. Rebels may appear as a stand alone series but when you include characters such as Ahsoka Tano and Captain Rex, who were a major part of Clone Wars, then it obviously means that it's continuing a story. You mistake my intentions for blindly hating the series because it doesn't measure up but from my perspective; it's not giving me a reason to like it. I've been searching for a reason to like the series but it's just too watered down. If Disney were to give the creators a lot more room to work with then it would turn out better. Until then, I'll be sitting and wondering what the hell happens to Darth Maul and the others.

"Well, it’s important that Rebels be its own thing. " "I want the Star Wars Rebels characters to shine in their own right, and I want them to capture a new generation of fans as each, you know, moment in Star Wars storytelling does. They need their own space as well." people making the show and running it have had to say multiple times that they want rebels to be viewed as its own thing, and for people to stop judging it based on clone wars the show is set as a prequel, so its not "continuing a story" it has connections to clone wars because its a shared universe

What happened in betwen Rebels and CW: Basically the Third Episode of the Trilogy.

Not the mention how rebels throws EVERY Original trilogy character into the show, Rebels feels like a wannabe of the original trilogy by putting in the sunset music into every episode, putting in the spaghetti thin lightsaber blade's, and making the stormtrooper shots look like unfinished effects just to fit the original trilogy style. We'll listen up disney....THOSE WERE UNFINISHED EFFECTS! This show is so desperate that practically EVERY design is based off of unfinished concept art of the original trilogy, clone wars characters appear here and there with NO explanation. Disney still didn't have to cancel clone wars, while Star Wars the clone wars is aimed for an older audience. Meanwhile Star Wars rebels is aimed for a younger audience and both of these show's would both be airing. ^ this is how it should have been done. But no, You had to troll everybody didn't you disney? GG disney no re.

rebels feels like the original trilogy because its a prequel to the original trilogy all of the technology they use and stuff they have predates what we see in the trilogy a lot of the designs are actually based off of the original kenner brand of star wars figures, as said by the creators of the show and you do realize that the same people making rebels made clone wars, right it makes no sense and requires an absurd amount of effort to have one group produce two shows at once, and airing two shows in different time periods of a universe at once is confusing for a lot of people

(This is my own opinion, and also no offence to fans of Star Wars or other Disney shows) Star Wars Rebels and the other shows on Disney Channel and XD are just terrible and a waste of time, the only exception being Randy Cunningham: 9th Grade Ninja

Rebels is not its "own thing" because it's including characters from clone wars in the series. Not to mention they're obviously carrying on the story line because Rex is the only surviving clone trooper from the army. Less we forget how they're trying to bring back people like Greggor and Ahsoka who were also involved in clone wars. Rebels is not a prequel because it takes place after Darth Vader took over the empire which is early episode 4. That is directly after clone wars which takes place during episode 2 and episode 3. In fact, the creators of the series wanted to remake episode 3 and end the series that way. I don't think you entirely understand why we're so against rebels. Clone wars was an amazing series which set the bar for every other show on CN. It won several awards and had the minds behind Star Wars and Samurai Jack working on each episode. Rebels is supposed to be an "I'm sorry" gift for the abrupt ending of Clone Wars. Yet, it turned out to be a giant "screw you" to the fans. If you were to go back and rewatch the entire series of Clone Wars and then watch the entire seasons of Rebels you would see exactly why we can't stand the show. It doesn't give us a reason to like it because it completely ruins everything Clone Wars laid out for it. Clone Wars literally set up for this series yet the wandered so far away from it that it's so unbelievably dumb. Like I said; the show doesn't give us a reason to like it. I tried searching for a reason and there just isn't one. Disney's main reason they didn't like Clone Wars was because they felt it was "too mature." That's also why they dislike Gravity Falls. Maybe that's also the reason you don't understand Clone Wars. As for SJFan77, the real best Disney show right now is Gravity Falls.

well, sorry if it isnt a trilogy but that's what every interview and article ive read has said but trying to deny the fact that the show needs to be viewed as its own thing pretty much proves how little respect you have for the creators of the show, the same people who created clone wars judging and disliking a show based on the fact that it isnt as good as another show is only harmful both to the community behind the series, the universe, and animation in general
