1) super bowls don't determine who the better QB is, it's a ####ing team effort
2) they both played in different eras where the rules, officiating, coaching, etc. was different, sort of impossible to truly say who's better

Being good is about your contribution to the team. If you are able to lead your team to Superbowls, that is the ultimate. Winning is the point of the game, and if you lead your team to the holy grail of winning in football, you're good.

yes winning it means you're a good QB, but it doesn't change the fact the best QB ever would still need to have a good team around him to win a SB. there are QBs with super bowl rings not even relatively near the top 50 QBs and then QBs with none in the top 20.

Dan Marino was DEFINITELY one of the best QBs to play the game. However, how many times have you heard someone call Marino THE best? Probably never. I'm not talking about QBs who were in the top 10 or top 5 best, I'm talking about QBs whose names get thrown around when talking about the best quarterback ever.
