The ROBLOX "Snap" feature is a feature that allows you to move bricks through each other in Studio mode with ease, and without the annoying, inefficient CFraming scripting in the command bar. It's very similar to the Snap or OSnap features in AutoCAD.
You can have snap turned on, in which bricks would go on top of each other as usual, and "snap" into place. In other words, building would take place as it usually does.
With the "Snap" feature turned off, bricks slide through each other when using the axis movement tool in Studio mode. (The tool for moving bricks that gives you the orange arrows for better movement control.) This could be extremely useful when you want extra detail in your places.
Examples:
-Moving one large brick into many other bricks to create a river, instead of hundreds of smaller bricks.
-Creating a more smooth curve.
After moving a brick(s) into the place you want it, simply turn snap back on and your ready to go!
What do you think? Do you have any more suggestions? Post them here! |

Your smart talk made my brain hurt...
But I think I get where your going with this! |

CFrame can't position bricks into other bricks when I try. And this idea is GREAt. |

Really?
Try putting the numbers into the first set of coordinates instead of the second. The first is for position, second is for curving/tilting.
For example, moving it down, make the coordinates (0, -0.1, 0) and keep pressing enter until it's positioned correctly. |

It's a really good idea.
But if you want to make a river like that, just insert a block mesh into a brick and make the mesh bigger. |
|
|
Great idea. But what I do is I put two bricks side-by-side and I rotate one.(using the rotate on the tool bar.) Just use that... For now... |

I'm aware of all of these methods. I just think it would be so much more convenient to have the Snap feature. I also think the rotate tool would be nice as well.
About AutoCAD... My dad is an architectural designer (he designs houses) and uses AutoCAD. We also have an AutoCAD class available at my high school. |
