Because I honestly have no idea.
One minute the company is, "Lets create mini events and release hats for TV shows that little kids watch!"
The next they're, "Introducing the new feature that will make studio 100x more complicated!"
If they're trying to make they're age group 5-20 then they should STOP, stop RIGHT NOW, and look at what the heck they've been doing.
Yes, I understand, ROBLOX is a game for kids, about building and scripting games. But seriously, what 8 year old knows ROBLOX's lua inside out? Yes, ROBLOX scripting is a modified version of lua (I think, please clarify though).
ROBLOX, from 2006 has never been destined to be a game for little kids, but whoever decided it would be a good idea to change the company direction to little kids... I suppose it wasn't one of the wisest decisions. Now I'm not an avid TV watcher, (NETFLIX FOREVER!) but I can tell that some of the recent mini events are more... Shows that little kids watch. How To Train Your Dragon? Pretty sure that was a PG/U. Minions? U. Teen Titans GO! Geared at little kids (My little cousin watches it!) We Bare Bares? I've never watched it but it looks like something a kid who's in Grade 3/4 would come home from school and watch. The ONLY exception is Jurassic Park on this list, and even then it wasn't even a big deal, it was only on for like 3 days.
These are all I could name off the top of my head, there have been many, many more.
Now I'm not saying
"PLEASE MAKE ROBLOX A 13+ GAME RIGHT NOW OR RIOT!121!!1!"
But I am saying that the company needs to look at the older generation.
Perhaps, ROBLOX could split in two, and create a ROBLOX Junior! (Exclamation mark included) Which is basically the ROBLOX site, for under 13s. ROBLOX Junior! would be linked to the main ROBLOX, all the same games would be there and such, but it would be totally different servers. -13s would NOT be able to access the main ROBLOX site.
While this seems like a GIGANTIC hassle, groups would be eliminated and there would be moderator/intern/highly respected dev ran. The forums would *obviously* be eliminated, but could be replaced with ONE simple "Talk" forum.
On the main ROBLOX site, things could be a bit more laxxed, I'm not saying go all out on letting us swear and stuff, but just not to be so... Tight. Not to be that overly protective mom who thinks that their son has the mind of a 7 year old. (Trust me I have a gran like that, she calls me her cookie and asks for hugs off me, I'm NOT five!)
I'm no web genius so this would probably be impossible or take thousands or dollars but one way or another
ROBLOX NEEDS to change the direction is hoping for, a world where 18 year olds go by rules made for 8 year olds is NOT going to happen for much longer. |

Roblox Junior sounds like a great idea to have for the small kids.
Im almost 16 and i'd like to have benefits and rules suited to players my age. There's lots of players who grow up playing Roblox, and playing by the rules and regulations they played with 7 years ago isn't cool.
THey should make 2 divisions like you said, so younger kids can play with people their own age and older kids can play with people their age.
I hate playing a game for "kids" when there is obviously a large enough community of older people that still play roblox lmfao

then these 18 year olds need to either stop playing this game, get jobs at roblox already, or use the "new feature that will make studio 100x more complicated!" to make games and use devex.
your points are somewhat good, but weak. you're basically discriminating against the little kids of roblox and you're acting like it only happens on roblox. it doesn't. runescape has all ages playing together, and runescape was part of thousands of peoples'(who play roblox) childhoods.

saying that 18 year olds are too old for roblox is exactly why we need this. This game has a population of kids and a population of older teens and young adults. Do you honestly think that most of these game developers are 10 years old lmfao. And just bc older people play roblox doesn't mean they have no life or job. You can easily go to school and work and still have free time to play roblox. We aren't discriminating against little kids, we're trying to help them. By allowing them to play with their own age group, this avoids problems like bullying and harassment, and also provides an environment where they can coexist and play with people who understand them. Same for older kids, if we separated the two groups, it minimalizes harassment while also promoting an environment where we can easily play together and cooperate. I can easily recall the last time I got frustrated because little kids bother people or don't fully understand the games. Roblox Junior! could have easier gameplay and access for younger kids too lmfao its a really cool idea
