Yeah, the Metro is very unreliable when it comes to rumours so I wouldn't look too deep into them.
Arsenal's tactic in the transfer market is to wait for someone to come up rather than be more aggressive which is very risky. I see Wenger putting trust in Walcott as a striker unless someone significant becomes available.

One of the strongest parts about the team last season was its chemistry. By going out and splashing cash, you ruin one of the fundamental strengths of this Arsenal team. The main weakness has been fixed in signing Petr Cech.
I still don't think Arsenal will quite make the title without another striker. The only reason Giroud is inconsistent is because he's always over played because the striker depth isn't good enough.

Realistically, Arsenal have a good squad already and don't need any crucial improvements.
Petr Cech was brought in to strengthen the Gunners between the sticks and promising youth is being acquired for the future.
Concerning Lacazette; in my opinion Wenger would only make an offer for him either in January or next Summer- it all depends on how Giroud and Welbeck perform this season. Sanogo has also said that he wants to help Arsenal turn their season around, so we'll have to see how the strikers perform.

akpom might be able to step up as the 2nd striker he's good enough for it but really arsene should've kept benik afobe around why he thought selling him was a good idea is beyond me he was destroying defences all year round last season and dominated for mk dons and wolves and still scored goals he's got the talent why he wasn't kept is beyond me and dont' forget arsenal still need a holding midfielder, lb and cb because monreal is ass and gibbs is usually injured. mertesacker is is getting old and is already as slow as a snail. |

If he keeps up his form from last season, the next summer is a possibility but January is unlikely, especially with him cup-tied in the CL.

In a season or two, hopefully, but right now, Akpom needs to build on his solid pre-season with a good loan spell at a Championship club.

Afobe has never really gotten a chance at Arsenal as he was always loaned out and I find that a bit of a shame but I don't think him staying on the bench for Arsenal would be good for both parties. On Afobe's side, coming off a remarkable season, having him straight away being pushed aside on the bench would do no good for his development.On Arsenal's side, relying on Afobe would be a risk, especially since he's not Premier League proven. I think Afobe will grow to be a good Premier League quality striker, but not the quality of striker which Arsenal need.

Agreed, but right now, there seem to be hardly anyone on the market. The only target which has been reported which may be a good signing is Sergi Samper from Barcelona but I'm not sure if that would happen.

Two seasons ago, yes, Monreal was shocking. Last season however, Monreal was the most improved player at Arsenal behind Coquelin and Bellerin. I think he's found his feet in English football and looks a lot more consistent and although Gibbs is injury prone, he is a good backup so I don't think Arsenal need a new left back unless Monreal leaves (on his last year of his contract).
With regards to Mertesacker, he is still 30, which isn't horribly old and probably has 2 good seasons left in him at least. Whilst Koscienly is still at his best, Mertesacker's spot in the team should be safe. They both cover each others weakness very well and helped Arsenal create a solid defensive unit throughout the second half of the season.

what are you talking about afobe was one of arsenal's hottest youth products and will be one of the best strikers in the epl when he gets there he'd be perfect for arsenal.

you have the money to easily just buy one (vidal and schniederlin were both available for good prices) and sergi samper isn't a holding midfielder he's a creative one.

no it shouldn't chelsea have cahill, terry and zouma city have mangela, kompany, deneyer and demichellis while united have their cb depth as well mertesacker is not that good and he's slow as hell if arsenal want to win the league they either need to play gabriel paulista or buy a guy like stones or de vrij.
