Why did the Astros trade their 2nd best prospect for an outfielder when there's nothing wrong with Marisnick, Rasmus, or Tucker. And what happens when Springer comes back
unless one of them is getting traded |

They should trade swagduelo for mike trout |
|
|
its called trading for good players to bolster your lineup to make a playoff run
the bad teams will trade away their better players for prospects

i realize that but i still think it's dumb to trade your 2nd best prospect (who plays the same position as the guy who traded for) for the short term |
|
|
get used to it if the astros are gonna be good for a while

the al west is so tight thast just a small piece could push them into winning it
and if you dont win the division and end up as a wild card, you go to a 1 game wild card playoff so its actually extremely important |

if they're looking for players to cement the division, shouldn't they be trading for pitchers instead of crowding the outfield? |
|
|
probably but trading for good pitching means giving up really good prospectS, with an emphasis on the 'S'. the deadline is a confusing time |

NOTHING WRONG? buuudddy
marisnick: .273 OBP/.279 wOBA/75 wRC+/0.7 fWAR
tucker: .322 OBP/.346 wOBA/122 wRC+/0.9 fWAR
rasmus:.304 OBP/.328 wOBA/110 wRC+/1.8 fWAR
compared to:
gomez: .328 OBP/.330 wOBA/107 wRC+/1.7 fWAR
as you can see, marisnick is absolutely horrendous, tucker is decent, and rasmus is bad
gomez is a very good player that is going to win you the division if he is consistent enough, same with kazmir
