I saw this somewhere before, and I even posted a thread about it, but I'm posting it once more. Illegal groups should be deleted. I'll keep this short.
What would count as an illegal group would be a group who impersonates a real company that has a copyright and does not have permission from the owner to create a group. Chances are, most of these impersonations don't have permission, thus deeming them illegal for stealing the name without permission, claiming it as their own.
If permission is granted, proof must be placed on the group wall. To make sure it's not an exploit, there must be a legal signature from the owner. If this is forged, then it's illegal anyway, and an e-mail should be sent to the owner of the company, asking if it's legit.
Also, placing a trademark and/or copyright symbol is illegal as long as they haven't run it through the government. I doubt the US government will reserve my group's name on an MMO, considering it's not a serious matter.
ROBLOX has claimed: "ROBLOX Corporation owns all the content on ROBLOX.com." This is a strong claim, considering there's illegal content on here. ROBLOX and possibly the user(s) responsible for this crime could be sued and the site will most likely be shut down for good.

In that case, aren't a lot of users also in trouble for uploading full songs onto ROBLOX (in the form of audio), without permission from the creator of the song? Just wondering if the trademark/copyright rules that apply to group names also apply to audios. |
