I have the same problem, when I chat, "OUR BASE IS BEING ATTACKED!" It shows like this. "ORBEBGATCD"

Also, my keyboard and my mouse keeps being delayed but everything around me is fine. I also have 10.6.8 Snow Leopard.

sometimes it can be gamepads as well. had same problem as OP and found out it was my *wired* xbox 360 controller >_> mv /home/siggy /dev/null
