Paragraph one-Why you should be able to: I think you should be able to delete a forum post because some people regret making them. Such as me, I made a post yesterday and I regret making it because I don't really think that idea is good anymore.
Paragraph two-How this would help: I think this could help us because moderators can only delete posts and you have to actually say something bad for the post to be deleted, but I think that it would be very helpful because moderators don't have to go around deleting peoples posts if they ask to, they can just simply delete there own.
