Right now, it costs 100 R$ to upload an audio clip regardless of length or any other factors. This makes it extremely expensive to upload sound effects that have a duration of just a few seconds. Since the max amount of seconds you can currently upload audio for is 120 seconds and it costs 100 R$, that makes it about 0.83 R$ per second. Here are the relative, scalable rates: 5 seconds: 4 R$ 10 seconds: 8 R$ 20 seconds: 16 R$ 25 seconds: 20 R$ 30 seconds: 25 R$ 45 seconds: 37 R$ 60 seconds: 50 R$ 90 seconds: 75 R$ 120 seconds: 120 R$ Audio uploading only costs money because of moderation costs. When a user runs out of R$, they may buy more R$ or purchase BC, so that's where Roblox moderators' salaries come from. With this new system, moderation is scalable since a shorter audio clip means less time for a moderator to spend reviewing it. If implemented, this feature will greatly help newbie and/or frugal developers. It will save costs and create a more scalable audio moderation system.

This is a pretty good suggestion, but there's a minor flaw: If someone wanted to upload audio that is 120 seconds long, they could just upload two different audio files (but they are actually the 120 second audio cut in half) and pay only 100 robux instead of 120 robux. The 20 robux gap doesn't seem much, but theoretically this means that more people can use this trick and there would be much more audio to moderate than before. Its still a good idea though.

I must have made a mistake in the math. Plus, it's inconvenient to upload two separate halves of a song to save a measly 20 R$. Thanks for pointing out the flaw, anyway.

If I had audio that lasted 120 seconds, I would massively split it into 5 second parts. I'll only be spending 96 ROBUX in total instead of 120. If I had a similar suggestion, why not pay more ROBUX for longer audio duration?

(continued from my previous post) I'm talking about more than 120 seconds.

Once again, I'm pretty sure I did the math wrong. It should add up, but it isn't.

I think this may be a little harsh to developers. Audio plays an important role in a game these days. I honestly think you shouldn't have to pay for audio at all. But, it's understandable when it comes to moderation.

lol no. Moderators already have to listen to 2 hours of pop music every single day. Okie dokie lokie

I mainly want this feature for sound effects. It's not fair to developers to have to pay 100 R$ just to upload a two-second clip.

I fixed your math :) The mods get to choose who they want to round Assuming a second is worth 0.83 robux: 5 seconds: 4.15 R$ 10 seconds: 8.30 R$ 20 seconds: 16.60 R$ 25 seconds: 20.75 R$ 30 seconds: 24.9 R$ 45 seconds: 37.35 R$ 60 seconds: 49.8 R$ 90 seconds: 74.7 R$ 120 seconds: 99.6 R$ source(s): I passed the 3rd grade also I think u messed up because for 120 seconds u went assuming a second is worth a robuck. Also, longer time should be cheaper, it's just common sense After the 90 second mark, the time should be jacked down to .7 robux per second. When you reach the 400 second mark, it should be jacked down to .65 robux per second, just makes it a bit better, also it's easier for a mod to listen to one long audio than a bunch of shorter ones. im not a jerk but homie u five

Thanks for the updated costs, but I don't know how you can pay a fraction of a R$. That's why I rounded it off.
