I think the studs should have a 3D view. Because it looks weird to have a shadow of the stud but it's not really the shadow of anything. So when you are in studio and you spawn that (magical) part, it's flat but what if it had 3D studs! I'd say that'll be a step up for ROBLOX. But also have an option to change between flat studs or 3D studs! :D like whoa, I just amazed my self.. :| Any one else agreeing? --Says no one ever--

@froo no, not if the studs are a non can collide pieace Example VVVVV - In that section - Cant collide [____] <---- Part - Can collide So it technically never existed if you can go right through it! :D (This is just my theory (No hate) --Says no one ever--

Possible and ROBLOX already uses it as bumpmapping. Depth is possible in textures, as shadows still affect it to an effect, but ofc it is not viewable in certain viewing angles.

I agree. If the studs go .03 studs above the surface of the brick

No support. This would create a massive increase in GPU usage on roblox, and as an owner of both a gaming desktop, and an average laptop that can just barely stabily run roblox as is, this would do nothing but cause issues for players who do not own a higher-end computer. Roblox is designed to be an accessible game for users of all (most) platforms. Think of it this way, each face of a brick is composed of two 2D triangles. So that's 12 triangles per brick. What you're proposing is to add another (roughly) 18 triangles per stud (triangles of the stud itself, and triangles between the studs), essentially increasing the rendering memory used on the GPU per stud by 150%. The reason it is a texture with a fake shadow and using a normal map is to save GPU memory the game uses. Roblox is supposed to be a lightweight game to run on almost every system. That's the way it's always been. If you want 3D studs, you can just add them to your own place the manual way.

@Vuthakral DO YOU KNOW WHAT BUMPMAPPING IS?
