in short terms, its a game that pits terrorists against counter-terrorists
terrorists either attempt to plant bombs or defende hostages to win the round
counter-terrorists attempt to prevent the terrorists from planting, or they can defuse the bomb, and they can rescue hostages
there's also a competitive mode that ranks you against people of your skill level
