Range: C3 - Bb5 - E6 (3 Octaves + 2 Notes) Voice Type: Full-Lyric Soprano Voice Rating: S-Class Known For: Powerful Belts and Resonance Recommended Songs: Confident, Heart Attack, Nightingale, All Night Long, For the Love of a Daughter(Also look up 2009 version for a more resonant F#5 Belt!) Positives: -Very wide belting range with her current highest note at Bb5 in studio, as well as live. Strong, Powerful, and Resonant mid-belts that have a darker and more full sound to them. Insanely powerful upper belts [Confident] that are accessed through a great mix of Chest and Head voice. -Great tonality in her head voice [My Love is Like a Star], which sadly isn't used often. Ability to transcend through registers with little trouble, while also being a pro at melisma. -Able to resonate all the way up to A5 before sounding shrill. Astonishing breath support and ability to hold and sustain notes for long periods of time, with even adding vibrato all the way up to G5. Also allowing her to sing difficult songs that require great amounts of breath support with little time to breath [Heart Attack]. -Conveys mass amounts of emotion into her songs and can change the texture and colours of her voice depending on the setting [Nightingale] [Stay-live]. Can easily captivate an audience with these qualities. Negatives: -Lower register is hard to access, but can resonate decently well down to around C#3 [Neon Lights] -Sometimes has poor control over her melisma live. -At times can have high or low larynx position when trying to reach for a note. Overview: -Overall, Demi Lovato is a star. Her tone is rich and dark, and she is able to belt pretty much every note in the 5th octave with resonance and power. Although her voice did go on a rollercoaster from 2013-2014, as of now, she has a much better technique then she did ever before. Transitioned from Lyric Soprano to Light-Lyric Soprano to now a Full-Lyric Soprano, she has always shined in her upper and mid belts and highly impressive range. The only thing left to see from this singer is whistle tones. (Which she has announced will be coming in her fifth studio album)
