Well, bebi lost the fight. He missed every punch. (He was absolutely wrong about me.)
Anyway, more plot. Tell me what to change and what not, what edits to make. Probably need help simplifying the explanation so it won't give people a headache.
In 2006, a pulse of mana tore through the Multiverse. On planes where magic was common, it caused utter disaster. However, on worlds where true magic was rare, it's effects where more subtle. Such as our own.
The pulse of mana that tore through the multiverse interacted with our world, and created a new word connected to our own. This world was inhabited by spiritual parasites. These parasites began attaching themselves to the souls of the dead, and created evil spirit-beasts, known to mages as Bounds.
However, the pulse also allowed heroic spirits from history, and also from other worlds created from imagination, to pass into our world. These spirits could only stay in our world by attaching them selves to a human, acting as this humans guardian spirit. This was only noticed by the world's mages, 10% of the human population, due to the fact that they lost their ability to use magic. This led them to discover that their spirits could re-open their magic circuits, the nerves in their body that allowed them to use magic, but only by summoning their spirits into corporeal form.
Mages where not the only people who became bonded by spirits. Another thirty percent of the population also became bonded to spirits, though many did not know at the time.
Bounds- Bounds are sort of like giant beasts, that can only be seen by mages or bonded that have summoned their spirits into physical form. The larger the soul's body was in life, the larger the bound. However, this isn't good. Bounds are extremely dangerous. Even a bound that attached itself to the soul of a mouse would be about the size of a small home. However, the parasite that creates a bound has not yet been able to possess a soul larger than a small, kitten sized cat, as the larger the soul, the more difficult it is for the process to be completed. Bounds have three stages: first, the attachment stage. The victim is unable to move, as parasites crowd it's soul, until the victim is transformed into a bound. Second, the bound seeks mana, stealing it from living things around it. This can cause heavy fatigue, nausea, and intense headaches. Third, the Bound will attempt to enter physical form. During stage three, it can't use it's body to attack, but it can light fires, move objects, and cause poisonous gas to leak from the ground. During the final stage, it become a fully physical being, and cannot be stopped by means of normal weapons. Only mages are capable of defeating it. |
