Support!!! If roblox should listen to at least one suggestion, (which they don't) it should be something cool and useful like this. |

Support. But the problem is it will cause tons of lag |

Impossible because ROBLOX uses a scanline renderer.
Even if they wanted to, it would require them to create an overlay on top of the existing graphics engine just to detect the player model's pixels, then return those values onto a 2D surface.
Or you would have to write thousands of lines of C code to do it scanline wise, in which I would have no idea how to do.

@harbynger the roblox water --->>>ALREADY<<<---- has refelections so why shouldnt they be able to put those reflections on to a default part ??? sure they would have to tweek many things until the new reflections reflect enough to look like a mirror ..but in my opinion it would be possible ^^
And to reduce lag they could lower reflection rendering range and lvl of reflection detail (how sharp or blurry /low res ) the reflection looks .
AND EVEN if the end result is that you just see some colorful blurry or pixelated splotchs if ya distance between camera and reflective part is even only =0.01 studs ; THEN IT WOULD BE MUCH BETTER than the old reflectiions !

Well modifying that is possible.
That shows they already somehow got it to work with a scanline renderer - the problem is that that is based on mapping a newly generated 2D image onto a 3D model - or at least a projected one based on voxels.
They would have to adapt that into working onto a 2D model, but a better question is that if ROBLOX's crappy engine can actually handle it or not.
It's limited to a tiny tiny tiny amount of system and visual RAM - simply storing the values it needs to draw a reflected image would take forever to work through.

The client renders the image, not the server.
That wouldn't cause lag at all, because we are able to assume the end user has the most powerful graphics card available and the target machine has the specs we want.

?? ok ?whatever i meant that they wouldn't give us those reflections if possible or not cause they fear about millions of complaints about lag ..so they should give us at least crappy low end reflections cause thats better than absolutely nothing .
