You sit in a horizontal position on the speeder, putting your hands on two balancing handles. Upon pushing your feet backwards on the pedals held there by magnetic force, you propel. Upon pushing only one, you turn left or right.
When you reach the tavern, you're greeted by the Daemons, who look something like this.

(Sorry, it's really hard to describe aliens)
You can recruit them, and they all specialize and do different things for different prices. Anyhow, you can buy a flagon of b33r for 25 credits. They make their b33r here out of Sun Chili's, so it has a spicy tang to it.

I take a seat at the tavern and get myself a single flagon of their Sun Chili specialty, downing it before standing up and taking a look at the aliens around. Hopefully, they spoke my language. I started walking around, looking at the potential recruits to see what their specialties were, and how much they charged. |

TRANSLATOR TUTORIAL
Not much to this, in the year 2028 they invented auto translators, so you now hear all known races speak your language, even if they speak other languages. They also hear you speak their language, so it all works out.
The first person you go up to says,
"I'm only willing to work for fifty credits a day, you hear? I have a wife and family to feed when I come home, and my current captain doesn't pay me that much..."

"Well, what can you do? You don't look like you're worth fifty credits a day." |

He would pull out a blaster pistol 2. It was perhaps one of the most inaccurate pistols ever, yet, as he whirled it out, he shot the bullseye on the dart board, about 300 feet away. Big tavern.

(I highly recommend you pick either the metric system or the imperial system, and then just stick with that instead of switching between them on occasion.)
"Fair enough," I say, "but what's a deadshot like you doing with a gun like that?" |
|
|
"I'm not exactly the richest man in the world..." said the Daemon.

"Still, surely you could get something better," I say, "what's your name?" |
|

"Abraer Bysoon." Said the Daemon.
"If you would pay me, I could man your cannons."
CREW MANAGEMENT TUTORIAL
There's no such thing as water costs anymore. In the year 2098, new Water Galaxies were explored and mined for their water. Entire galaxies with planets made completely out of water, like the Aquarii galaxy, were used to make sure people can drink all over the universe. However,
food cost exists, nonetheless. But this is just crew management, I'll get into that later.
You can tell your crew to do anything, but naturally, some are better at doing some tasks later. Upon entering your ship and officially becoming apart of your crew, and requesting for it, you'll see their STATS. STATS can raise or decrease, depending upon how you act as a Captain, so be mindful of that.
CREW PAYMENT/FOOD TUTORIAL
All crewmembers will ask for a payment. It is up to you to decide whether or not they're worth said payment. That's really all I can say on that, however,
food is a different matter. There's also something called Crew Happiness. If your crew gets too unhappy, they'll mutiny and kill you, probably bringing you back to the police for an award. Or they'll tie you up and bring you back, whichever.
There are six types of food to give your crew and yourself.
Low Quality - Low Variety
Intermediate Quality - Intermediate Variety
High Quality - High Variety
These can mix and mash. For example, high quality and low variety, or intermediate quality with high variety, etc.
The costs are as following:
High Quality = 30 Credits per meal
High Variety = 25 Credits per meal
Intermediate Quality = 20 Credits per meal
Intermediate Variety = 15 Credits per meal
Low Quality = 10 Credits per meal
Low Variety = 5 Credits per meal
Simultaneously, you could hire a cook, or multiple cooks, to lower these costs. Cooks can also do other things, so it might be worth it.
(Btw I might need help managing that, because this is where managing your money gets reeeeaaally complicated)

"Well, I've only got one cannon, though I'm sure I'll end up getting another soon enough," I say, "pack up your things and I'll be back for you in a few hours."
I pay Abraer his 50 credits, then headed out of the tavern to the market, trying to see if anybody around has a job for me to do. Preferably a paying one. |

You could go to the bounty board, or go back in the pub and ask around. |

A man with a bounty on his head hunting other people with bounties on their head. There's some irony here, I'm sure of it. In any case, is hunting down bounties really the best idea for me? I'd have to turn them into someone, wouldn't I? They could recognize me. Well, perhaps I could get Abraer to turn them in for me after I catch them. That seems like a good plan. I make my way to the bounty board to see what criminals, besides myself, are on the loose. |

The bounty that catches your eye is Aldean the Pistol Webber, 20000 alive, 10000 dead. |

I examine the bounty poster to see if there's any important information about Aldean on it. |
|
|
"Aldean the Pistol Webber appears to shoot cobwebs out of his hands in order to reach for another pistol after discarding the other one. He prefers dual-wielding and has last been seen in a pub in the Aquarii galaxy, planet Duagua."
Lucky there was an aquagear salesman nearby. |

Guess I'll have to go see him then. I take the poster off of the board and pocket it, before heading to the aquagear salesman to see how much he charges. |

200 credits per aquawarp gear. |

(Are all crew members going to require money, or will there be some that are nice and just want to travel in space with me? Maybe there could be some characters who have a questline I can do to recruit them for free?)
I buy two pieces of Aquawarp Gear, then make my way back to the tavern to see if there's anyone that has something else I can do for cash. |

Your balance is 2500 Credits.
The INTERGAPOL begin to take special interest in you.
There was a crazy old man with an odd eye who wanted you to get rid of some blazing Narbgarblers for 10000 Credits. Must be a lot of Narbgarblers. |
|
Z0rr0wJoin Date: 2008-07-06 Post Count: 14027 |
"What are Narbgarblers?" I ask the old man. Maybe they were just something he made up. He looks crazy enough to do something like that. If I were crazy, I'd probably want to kill him and just take the money. That eye seems like it could turn a man to wanting to kill him. That eye is sickening. It's the kind of eye that could make you want to kill him and bury his body underneath the floorboards, only to be found by a Tell-Tale Heart, still beating, still vying for life. I hoped he would answer quickly so I don't have to look at his eye and imagine macabre deeds. |
|
|
"Narbgarblers!" He yells.
"The Blazing Narbgarblers, you know! Little tiny fire spirit entities that roam the caves that I own, they're messin' up me minin'!"
It seems this man wasn't in a correct mental state, however, he'll probably pay you if you check it out and come back saying they're all gone.

"And where are these caves?" |
|
|
"Up yonder! Can't miss 'm!"
He would point North. |

"I'll be back then," I say, heading out and driving North. |

Nothing in particular catches your eye, but you pass a Mild Chili Farm. Upon reaching the caves, you are greeted with sheer, jagged cliffs with huge holes in them. It appears that this is the man's property. |
