Abe "Sooty" Gunhammer was born in Hawaii around 2046. His parents ran a family mining business out of an old Coal mine near Pearl City.
As Sooty grew up, he helped mine for his parents and get PWD. He wasn't very poor; the mining business was lucrative. So, he had an educated childhood.
However, the family never had much education on mining safety. They didn't acquire fumigation helmets to protect against long term effects from fumes in the mine, and didn't be cautious of explosions. In 2070, the mine collapsed from a gas explosion. No one died, but the family business was shut down. The family began scavenging instead for PWD. This was still a somewhat lucrative business, so they weren't devastated, but the loss of the mine was a major event in Sooty's life.
Around 2080, the family dug out the collapsed mine with the funds they acquired from scavenging. They began mining again.
In 2084, Sooty finally left the family. By then he was Nearly 40, and wanted to have some adventure. He left for Pearl City.
However, by present time 2100, Sooty's long years in the mine caught up with him. His demeanor changed from a peaceful fellow to an aggressive, paranoid loony. His brain had deteriorated much from the mine fumes, as he had no protection from them. He also shows symptoms of Black Lung disease, which is where coal dust infects your lungs. This and his brain deterioration make him a very aggressive and paranoid person. He can be found in CT most commonly, wearing the cut up rags of mining overalls, a fumigation helmet that he recently acquired, and a backpack. He carries a mining mattock, and a heavy duty hand mining drill.
Sooty's rants about "permits" involve his mining history. He's prone to attack anyone who mentions "buying" or "gold." This is due to the small chunk of gold he's hidden in Pearl City, which he keeps for odd reasons. He mined this gold from a rare vein in the family mine.

And since there isn't a sub-forum dedicated to poorly-written special-snowflake character biographies, you should put it in off-topic and lock the thread so people don't yell at you about your poorly-written special-snowflake character biography. |
