I have come up with the idea that players should be able to change their username for free since it is their username and they have the right to change it. It would be nice if it could be free or at least way more cheaper to change the username. |

The roblox servers have to do a ridiculous amount of relays making sure that your name is changed on every page it appears on, and it's pretty costly.
Hell, if I had to guess, it costs more money to change your name than roblox charges for it.

dev here that worked in asp.net, had to rewrite this
now the pages are dynamic, your browser receives an html page to know how to format the page and displays it on the browser, roblox doesnt exactly work like just send an html file and there, display. it has an asp.net file which is the same for everyone and it then translates it into html to send it to your browser, the asp.net file says something like "search up number of tix of that user id in database and put it here in this div in the html file", it lists all that info and converts it into html in just milliseconds, it already does that every time you load the page so the amount of work done is the same work done every time you load a page, only work it is doing is changing the database
now a database is on a hard disk, all your accounts basic info is going to probably fit into at the max a few gigabytes, the database is NOTHING

no support though, being able to change usernames so easily will cause trouble, etc a stupid script might only work with players names, if anyone can just change their name anyone can bypass a ban so easily.
btw changing ur username is like the same work as changing a game's name, takes almost no time, as proof both are done using the same methods, database hooked up to servers which translate asp.net pages every time you request to load a page |

Besides the fact that you'd be able to reserve a ton of usernames, changing your username is a privilege since it changes your identity when you're in a game. It can be used to get around bans/kicks, it can be used to trick others, etc..
