Daichi With a loud explosion, and what could only be described as... sprits, the Captain finally landed and collapsed on the floor. Naturally, Captain Cox wasn't exactly thrilled. "I told you that this would get out of hand." "Sir, I respectfully disagree. That was the only way to stop the AWOL soldier." Then again, Captain Walker was completely a different person when he started to extract that spirit from Armand's body. It was as if he wasn't Nathan Walker at the time, but rather something else. This was getting interesting, but Captain Walker's health was the most important thing to concern myself with for now. I quickly dashed to the epicenter of the battle, where the Captain was talking with a Fireteam Doorknocker AERIS soldier.

Armand groaned. What had happened? I felt as though I had knocked my head against a stone wall, been attacked and pounded by some sort of huge creature, then that creature bashed me against the wall, then threw itself on me, then a huge hovertank crashed into both of us. And then to add pain to what already felt like death, I felt like I had phased through the wall then phased in while still inside the wall, fusing every atom in my body with the material in the wall. And this definitely wasn't where I had lost consciousness before. It had been in a different room, I was sure. One with a bunch of glowy stuff... and that huge thing that had attracted me while I was phased out. This one was different. And... everyone else was here. Something... agh, this headache is pounding... Nathan is near me, he seems to have been unconscious too. One of the other soldiers is next to him, helping him up... as I try to get up, I spot another soldier with a hole in his chest. Made by an AutoPistol, I think. By the... what had happened here?

(mind if I interact?) Daichi Nearby, the AWOL soldier was starting to wake up. I could see him shaking his head as he tried to get his bearings. He was a danger and a liability, and I can't let him start acting up again. Quickly running up to his position, I aimed my HoloRifle at Armand. "Don't move. You've got a lot of explaining to do here, kid." If Armand made any fishy moves, I already had my Darkness Stream charged to incapacitate him. (remember, Daichi is another veteran, so kid works right?)

(Interaction = good. Never be afraid to interact with another character. And yeah, since Armand is pretty much fresh out of the academy, "kid" works.) Armand's eyes widened a little as he stared down the gun pointed at him. Slowly raising my hands to come near my face, showing they are empty, I say, "Whoa. I..." taking a deep breath, as his headache pounded again, he continued, "Didn't do anything. I jumped out, phased out, and the next thing I know I'm in this big room with lots of lights running like wires, and a big... thing in the middle, then I blacked out. No need to shoot." Then I realize that my armor is off. Gone, with only the combat body glove that I wore underneath left, and a few scraps of melted material, in the same color as my suit was. I'm also devoid of weapons. Thankfully, my power conversion module is still here. That thing was, as the instructors told me, worth as much money as a moderately sized space ship. Which, as far as I know, is pretty expensive.

Daichi "Well, look around. Look at the mess you've made." I gestured my hands towards the battle scars and blast marks the entire battle left behind at the temple complex. Even now, a few flames were flickering in the wake of the myriad of explosions that the two AERIS soldiers caused. "Plus, you've gone AWOL too, so I'm not inclined to let you off the hook so easily. Keep your hands up. The Captain will be here any time now." The HoloRifle remained pointed at Armand's head. Whether or not the whole "I don't remember" trick is true doesn't matter at this point. He caused so much trouble and almost killed two AERIS soldiers. That's just not acceptable.

(Mark better interact soon or i'm DEAD) Sean I see a light and see my family and friends who are dead, " I must not go to the light" I whisper, But i start to feel my legs walking towards it "Never!" I yell and wake up. There is blood all over my shirt and someone is trying to patch it up, tired and done. I ask "I'm going to die, Ain't i?"

(okay, okay) Mark Just one more stitch, and I'm done. This was taking a bit longer than usual, but the wound was situated at an awkward place. There we go. With the stitches in place, I disinfected the wound once more before covering it with a compress, covered with surgical tape. I injected some painkillers to ease the pain. "You aren't dying on me. Are you alright? Think you can move?"

Mark I helped Sean sit up and put him next to a wall with some blankets to help with the cold. "Oh, there are bigger problems than just being discharged." Kyle came over to check up on the situation. He seemed worried, but I managed to calm him down. Sean was alright, I told him. Now, I had to check on Captain Walker. I needed to make sure he wasn't seriously injured. That fight was vicious, and could've easily caused severe injuries on the body. I left Kyle in charge of the survivors while I headed over to the Captain. Nathan From the distance, I could see Mark heading on over. He seemed obviously worried, probably about my health. "Sir, are you alright?" "I'm fine Lieutenant. Maybe a few bruises, but nothing life threatening. Now where's my armor?" Mark picked up the discarded HAVOK armor and helmet and gave them back. Donning the old suit once more, I changed my attentions to Dillar. Lieutenant Ozora was already holding him captive. "Lieutenant Ozora, stand down. I'll take care of the questioning from here on out. Just provide security just in case."

Alexander "Specialist Alexander Williams, sir." I said, as I hoisted Nathan up. He's a bit lighter than I had imagined. He then proceeded to go about his business. Tim Rejoice! The fighting has stopped, and Sean's back on his feet again. I pack up, and stand up. Wallace I slowly grab my gun and move forward. Everything was... wrong. My ears were still ringing.

Daichi Captain Walker ordered me to stand down, and so I complied. I backed off from the fallen soldier and returned to Captain Cox. We soon had the perimeter secured and maintained a tight formation. Nothing was getting past us. Chris took the right flank while I took the left. The HoloRifle was ready for action, should there be one.

Armand watched the other soldier move away from him, taking the gun out of his face. I was relieved, to say the least. He had said some disturbing things. Me, causing all this damage to the place... I look around, taking in the extent. Whatever happened, it was brutal. And going AWOL... well, I did jump out of the vehicle and abandon the team. Hopefully neither Nathan nor any of the others here will try to press charges once we make it back to Federation space. There's also the matter of me not having any armor or weapons. Walking over to Nathan, who is up and active, I have my hands held to the level of my neck, palms facing out, to indicate that I mean no harm. I'm not even sure I could cause any, given my current state. I stumble once as the headache returns, pounding for a few seconds before abating again. "Sir..." I start, trying to think of what to say. "I'm sorry for jumping out of the transport. I was panicking, and... well, I don't know how I came to be like this. Something happened after I phased out, and I found myself standing in a room sort of like this. I turned around, and then I blacked out, and there's nothing until I woke up here. Did I... did I do something?" I ask, tentatively.

(Yeahhhhh I'm dubious as to the temple being a MILE in walkable length. A mile is a really, really long way. At most, the temple is probably half a square kilometer in area, which is about a third of a mile. And that's total, not in length or width. So you might be able to walk 100-200 meters before hitting a wall.)

Nathan "Stay where you are. Are you you? There are a lot of things that you've forgotten, Lieutenant Dillar." I aimed my palms towards Dillar, whereupon they began to glow with my photonic energy. But before I could let loose a salvo, I stopped. Of course, I knew that Armand wasn't the one responsible for all of this. It was the Patriarch, Zachariel, as the Guardian had told me. "I know that you think you've only abandoned the transport. Let's leave it at that. There are bigger things to worry about right now." I tossed a field kit towards Armand. It contained the standard body armor of the FAF to compensate for Armand's armor loss. "We've got to stop the Crepitus Event, troops. I'll explain on the way, there's no time." I headed for the nearest jeep, where my Fireteam was all ready to go. On my way, I spotted Lieutenant McConaghy wandering about. Gesturing for him to get in, I started up the jeep engines. "Lieutenant Ozora, keep an eye on Lieutenant Dillar. Let me know if he acts up again.", I spoke through the comms.

John Eventually, I got my mind together. I was me again. Nathan was talking about a Crepitus Event or something, I dunno. I gestured my men to get on another jeep, while I get on Nathan's. As McConaughy, the soldier who got shot, hopped onto our jeep, Nathan started the engines. Then, I asked him, "Sir... what's a Crepitus Event, and where are we going now, sir?" Alexander John told us to get on another jeep, so we did. I hopped onto another jeep, where Lt. Dillar was. That guy caused some major trouble, and it wouldn't hurt if there's an extra guard. I get on the seat next to him, with my hand on my sidearm, ready to make a move if he does. Tim Following John's orders, I hopped onto another jeep. I then checked my ammunition. 5 magazines for my Holo-Rifle, and 2 for my Auto-Pistol. Disintegration Grenades are all used up. I used them during our trip from the crash to this temple, where we encountered those... Mantis things. We had a lot of men during that trip. 10, at least. They ripped us all to shreds. Without mobility, we were sitting ducks. Fireteam Ripper was all gone. Everything. They even took out one of ours. Cameron. Jesus, that kid was fresh out of the AERIS Academy. But, no time for flashbacks now. We've got to stop the Crepitus Event. Whatever that is.

Daichi I couldn't believe it. What is Captain Walker doing? Letting Armand rejoin the group? Why? That soldier went completely AWOL and even attempted to murder a fellow AERIS soldier. What gives? Then, I received the comms. Captain Walker wanted me to keep an eye on Lieutenant Dillar. "Yes sir...", I discreetly replied. Maybe the Captain still doesn't fully trust Armand, but why not have him arrested outright? He should be court-martialed if anything. Then again, it was the Captain, and I'm sure he has his reasons. Captain Cox quickly led us to our jeep and followed along Fireteam Nexus's transport. Whatever this Crepitus Event is, it seems to be quite important.

Nathan From the excavation files, there were at least two other structures unearthed in conjunction with the Temple. From my conversation with the Guardian, I knew that these structures were designed to prevent the Crepitus Event from transpiring. Zachariel had initiated the self-destruct sequence for the binders, thus allowing the Crepitus Event to start. The jeep buckled from a stray rock on the road. "Alright troops, consider this a mission briefing. The Crepitus Event is a potential human-extinction level event. We don't have much time to stop it. There are two structures within the mines that are set to self-destruct modes. If we don't prevent their destruction, then the Crepitus Event will happen. We're heading to the nearest binder right now." I knew that Mark had some knowledge regarding computer interfaces, but I'm not sure if it will work with an alien design. I can only hope.
