you're an idiot; if the roblox developers learn the linux api (which they really wont need too since they would use some knockoff of opengl and they could just steal most of their code from mac version), they wouldn't need to waste the extra money.

"No Support, this would majorly slow down other updates." no it won't, the roblox for linux project was ditched in 2010 but was 95% done.

That's because Linux couldn't handle the 2006 aspects.

"you're an idiot; if the roblox developers learn the linux api (which they really wont need too since they would use some knockoff of opengl and they could just steal most of their code from mac version), they wouldn't need to waste the extra money." YOU'RE an idiot, this is not how companies work. They aren't going to learn a new API to develop the game on. They'd want adept developers who can make a clean port of the game without wasting any time. Maybe if they were a small game studio they'd let devs take the time to learn it, but ROBLOX is a major corporation and the site has ~4.5 million users.

If Roblox had a Mantle-based renderer (I believe there's API for Mantle currently coded into some new Linux OSes) it would solve a lot of problems. OpenGL is dated and slower than most everything else. I'd be all over Roblox if they started supporting Linux, but their biggest problems for going for a Linux port would be • Packaging the Roblox player; • Working with the absolutely massive variety of Linux OSes (if they build a .deb package they'll target a decent majority of Linux users); • Dealing with the archaic OpenGL framework and trying to make it work faster; • The absolutely monstrous spectrum of hardware on Linux, let alone the support for said hardware will create such varied game experiences that it would be difficult to make Roblox a reasonable game for Linux; • Hiring employees with a solid foundation in porting to Linux, and dealing with all of the above; • Getting a return on their investment.

"No Support, this would majorly slow down other updates." It is possible without slowing down. "OpenGL is dated and slower than most everything else." It is not for me. "Packaging the Roblox player; Working with the absolutely massive variety of Linux OSes (if they build a .deb package they'll target a decent majority of Linux users); Hiring employees with a solid foundation in porting to Linux, and dealing with all of the above; Getting a return on their investment." If you do not think the software centres will not do, then fine. "Dealing with the archaic OpenGL framework and trying to make it work faster;" Hiring developers. "The absolutely monstrous spectrum of hardware on Linux, let alone the support for said hardware will create such varied game experiences that it would be difficult to make Roblox a reasonable game for Linux;" Just set the processors. Do you support, or not? Using Linux Mint 17,2 KDE Edition -- 17-9|8=4|D-B|9-8=4|11-9-8|8=4|+|1B|B-A=4|F-D|A=4|4B|B-A=4|19-B|13-B

Support I had a virus on my Win7 so I had to terminated but then later I found out that it became ubuntu all of a sudden... ROBLOX is slowly making us younger and turning us into raging 6 year olds. Lets accept it.

^ How can it turn into ubuntu... The only logical thing that would've happened is it deleted windows and installed Ubuntu on it. But then again, who would create that kind of virus. Or you used an Ubuntu Disc and did not pay attention to the instructions.

>delete windows Yeah, right. They would have to run the deadly command that kills ur computer that haz windows: rmdir C:\ /s /q and then install Ubuntu. If Windows is uninstalled, then there is no way to do anything because the OS doesn't exist anymore on that computer

#178906084Monday, November 30, 2015 3:18 PM GMT

Actually, if there was a virus like that it would probably shrink the windows partition a bit and add a fat32 partition and copy itself there then delete windows and install ubuntu.
BurnOfFlames
#178906105Monday, November 30, 2015 3:19 PM GMT

And the computer would automatically boot from that partition and do its work.

@BurnofFlames 1. They had the money FOR Mac. 2. Android & iOS wasn't really that expensive to implement. If you guys think Linux is used in supercomputers, then you should've look at what I just said.
