So many people complain about real music being dead and artificial music taking its place; Not true. A while ago I made a similar post to this one ranting about the same issue. The fact that people say "Today's music sucks" shows that they only looked at the popular/crappy source of music without having the effort to dig through some decent types of music.
I'm going to start the guide through modern music right now, some of these you might not be familiar with.

"All singers suck today and rely on autotune to sing"
Bullcrap. Check these out: St. Vincent, James Blake, Fiona Apple, Dirty Projectors, Feist
"Metal today is just emo *Censored* "
Really dude? Listen to these: The sword, Opeth, Agalloch, Gojira, High on Fire, Boris
"All Pop Sucks"
Sure pop sucks, but not all of it. These are some exceptions: LCD Soundsystem, Animal Collective, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Gorillaz
"Lyrics are meaningless today, not like the past when it was meaningful"
False. Read the lyrics to these guys' music: Keaton Henson, Andrew Jackson Jihad, Listener, MeWithoutYou, The Mountain Goats
