Everything has improved Take off your goggles and realize how much gaming has improved has a whole, the technology has allowed us to create more ambitious titles that would otherwise be impossible

Yeah, you're correct about it improving it as a 'whole', from the beginning.

Why post this thread if you knew your answer. -CAT, Destroyer of Worlds-

7th gen never ended

Ex, you misunderstood my post. It has improved, yeah, but as I previously stated the 7th to 8th generation improvement was almost nothing. You too easily resorted to thinking I gave up.

Thus why I put brackets around 'whole',

Those aren't brackets. Also, it has improved, if only slightly, as a whole. 60FPS is now a thing on consoles, 1080p on PS4 and 900 (?) on XboxOne. The graphics are better as the systems can handle better. Gameplay is subjective right now as not too many games have come out for them. I don't know, tell me one thing that has not improved in your point of view. -CAT, Destroyer of Worlds-

Apologies, quotation marks. If you haven't been paying precise attention, the essential point here was the lack of improvement compared to other generations. You mostly mentioned graphics again and other features only improved slightly. The amusing thing about me posting argumentative threads such as this is that there's no incorrect or correct answer. It all comes down to people's opinions, simply with tons of argument involved. Points are always made by both sides yet nobody's right or wrong about my original statement, including myself.

"If you haven't been paying precise attention, the essential point here was the lack of improvement compared to other generations. You mostly mentioned graphics again and other features only improved slightly." You proved his point, everything improved, even if it was "slightly." "The amusing thing about me posting argumentative threads such as this is that there's no incorrect or correct answer. It all comes down to people's opinions, simply with tons of argument involved. Points are always made by both sides yet nobody's right or wrong about my original statement, including myself." Another amusing thing is how you're implying your opinion is fact and stuffing it down people's throats. The Wii U also has backwards compatibility, even all the way back to the NES. The consoles are getting there, backwards compatibility only improved since 7th gen.

Your analysis and relation to the original question isn't very good.

They're not quotation marks either. Also, I guess you're right in the regard that this is somewhat subjective, improving as a word is sometimes subjective too so whatever. You have your opinions, I have mine. -CAT, Destroyer of Worlds-

you're really comparing a 10 year old console to a ps4/xbone? That's what I got from the replies anyway

"you're really comparing a 10 year old console to a ps4/xbone?" newsflash dumbass there's nothing else to compare it with, unless you think 14-16 year old hardware vs PS4/Xbone (6th v 8th gen) is a better point of comparison and if you do... my condolences to whoever had to try and jam basic educational things into your thick skull *tips fedora*

Wiiu has backward compatibility to the wii. the youtube stuff I sorta agree with but isnt a bad thing cause its something optional for some people to use. its a nice thing to have really not every game has DLC Most negativity is from PC enlists

In my opinion a lot has improved, its just the industry (and community) has gotten crappier over the years. With Technology evolving, a lot can be done with games both gameplay and graphically. for this gen I mainly stick with Wiiu. Mostly cause it isnt filled with needed DLC. and also avoids a lot of the issues u pointed out.
