I have a game that I think has big potential. But I've ran like 10 ads, advertised on game marketing, and even asked friends to play. But it seems I just can't get any people to play, no matter what I try. How can I get my game to be well-known? |

Well I looked at the thumbnail (of the only game on your profile) and it has nothing descriptive in the picture.
Also there is absolutely nothing about the game in the description of the game.
I haven't seen your ads, but I don't usually want to play something I know absolutely nothing about. |

In the description of my game, it's always said:
"Welcome to Magma Rush! Run from molten lava as it flows towards you, as you do the obstacles to reach the end! Only one person can win!"

I'll be a game curator for R50 an hour.
What I'll do:
-Invite people to come play your game, it's more personal than an ad.
-Welcome people to the server.
-Make sure they have someone to play with at all times, so it's not empty and boring.
-Be engaging, kind and friendly.
-Help people learn how to play if they don't already.
-Make servers seem more populated, this should snowball and get more players to stay.
Q: Is hiring a game curator worth it?
A: Developers are busy scripting, building and all-around maintaining their game. If you have someone dedicated to sticking around on servers it'll increase your chances of going critical.
Q: What is going critical?
A: When you advertise your place, you might have 1 or 2 people coming and going every few minutes. Chances are if there's no one else playing, they'll leave right away. Having a dedicated game curator gives your game a small "buffer", and increases the chance of the server snowballing, and thus rising /towards/ the front page. |

Not putting enough money in your ads.
If you run a good ad with at least a 1% CTR on 25k tix, you WILL get at least 500 visits.
If the game is any good, that's enough to start something going.

That's the thing. I don't have much money at all.. which makes it hard to advertise the game.
Also, I've worked hard on it to ensure that it's a game people would stay for about 10-20 minute sessions, on average. I played it with my friend and brother, they both really liked it. |

Well just buy R1000. It's only like $10 irl moni. Pretty sure most people spend more than that buying useless junk each week. |

Checking out your game right now.
-Lobby needs a bit of work
-The whole place feels a bit empty and too 09-10'ish, needs a makeover
-Need a lot more variation on courses. Make them a bit bigger.

The game itself is fine, your gameplay formula is a classic tried-and-true, I don't really have many critiques about that.
You have to remember for "casual" games like that (and yes, that gameplay is pretty casual), people are 50% playing, 50% hanging out. You need to spice up the lobby, get rid of manual save (go with automatic save everytime you get points, whatevs). I think your main problem is presentation.
As far as gameplay, think up some special gamemodes. Maybe one where you have to be the last one standing and knock everyone down. Or one where you have to vertically climb instead of run.
Tell you what, if you implement some changes like this, and I check back and like what I see I'll invest 40k TIX total in an ad campaign for your game, for 5% of your visit tix revenue in the future and give me first pick for ~4/10 design decisions you make.. |

Actually, there IS an autosave.
Honestly, the save button is only there because I had a saving bug early on in the development of the game, and still haven't removed it. There's an autosave every time your units change. Also upon buying an item. |

Also, the lobby has been built by someone (I requested it) but I can't pay for it just quite yet. Once I can, there will be a much better lobby. I'm also going to expand the maps and change the player count to more like 12. |

dear's right, I'm running a game that gets about 50k visits a week. I'm both a developer and I stay in server making sure that players are happy, I didn't even have to advertise because I was constantly there catering to the users needs |

I absolutely love to stay and play with people, but that's like the problem. I can't even get people to initially join.. and when people DO join, it's when i'm in school or eating dinner, etc. |
