Neither of those languages are spoken outside their countries, so unless you plan on moving to either of them, don't bother learning either languages. The only reason anyone would learn a foreign language aside from moving to the country where it's spoken is to brag about knowing how to speak it. |

German is a lot easier to learn and is spoken in more than one country, Japanese is an interesting language to learn but it's not as useful (unless you're travelling there). |

there are quite a bit of good jobs as translators or companies, authors, etc.
there was a dude my aunt knew when she worked at this company, the dude was like a manager or high in rank or whatever, and would talk to japanese people in japanese. he'd be a translator and stuff like that. he got paid well. |
