Some people don't want to be followed by people they don't approve, it can lead to things like spam and people stocking others. I mean followers can see the games you play, your groups and stuff like that. |

You can only block up to 50 people there, what if you want to block all your followers and say you have 100? |

Settings > Privacy > Who can message me: Friends
Settings > Privacy > Who can follow me into the game: Friends
Set those and nobody will be spamming or stocking you.
If you're so worried about these things, just change your settings. It doesn't matter if they remove followers or not; people can still interact with you unless you set your privacy settings to friends only. |

No, followers! Changing your "Who Can Follow Me In Game" settings won't do anything. He wants to remove the people who followed him. |
